We did the right thing. We should have made use of 93,000 POW's. But our Idealist ideology... We should now concentrate on oue smaller neibhours before it get too long. A long term foreign polcy like George Kennan's view about Soviet Union in 1945. They need us. Before our enemies reach there, which are already been successful, we must focus before it gets too late
There is only on truth, Muslims anywhere in this world should never be helped. They will be living like slaves under their own mullahs rule. After some one has helped them they have new problem that will be connected to the helper. They feel they are always victimised coz they have tonnes of demands. They dont know how to give and take respect. They should understand the meaning ofthe word peace. either there is something terribly wrongw with Islam or with the preachers who preach islam. Personaly i think its the preacher who preaches poison into the mids of Muslims. Muslims never deserve any help.

agree with you.But what to be done?sensible persons like you, along with Muslims of rational thinking, should dragout from the mouths of so-called secularists who treat them only vote-Bank.Hidus,in general, are peaceloving n Godfearing guys.I have myself seen so many Hindus to pay respect to Mosque when they passby. Can muslims reciprocate accordigly? They have been totally misled by their religious/political leaders.when they can't live with Hindus in peace, with whom they can?

Why so much religious hatred? Why're you bothered who is being helped on the basis of religion.
U stupid moran. Think how difficult it would have been if Pakistan was present on two fronts. Bangladesh is not a good friend to India but at least they are not as harmful as Pakistan is...

bangladesh was rightly liberated from the jaws of pak,but our govt.shouldn't have handed over the Pow's till total withdrawl of pak froKashmir.this was a mistake.Secondly, section 370 should have been withdrawn.Indians from other parts of country,if had been allowed to settle in Kashmir, demography was sure to change.kashmir problem wouldn't have been as grave as is today.thirdly,Indian Muslims should be cautioned against the designs of so-called secularist who just treat them vote-bank.muslims should come forward to condemn the violent activities of their co-religionists.certainly,all Muslims are not anti-natinal,but their silence make them suspicious.
The bangladeshis fought the PAkis as banglas & used our help, later they realized that they were first muslims then banglas ,then the ungratefulls kill our soldiers tie them like pigs & what do our great politicians do they welcome banglas into INDIA & call them true secularists for their vote banks ,a small countryt like bangladesh shelters ULFA ISI etc & what do we do ,talk to them.would Bangladesh dare to it to a neighbor like ISRAEL, THE israelis protect their own ,honor their soldiers,Commies & congressi types would even do another PARTION of this great COUNTRY if they would be told this would allow them unrestricted right to rule oopps loot,The country be damned, they would change the demograpy or even CONVERT to continue to loot us arise HINDUS you have nothing to loose other than these commies & congresssi secularists, the more they try to divide us the more the HINDU vote should consolidate
in hindsight what we did in Bangladesh is like what pak did in KAshmir, Im sure we did fuel the fire by getting into it. bad times for any country, winning or loosing side..hope it never happens again.
WQe have in the usual Indian sentimentality have commited an enormous Blunder. looking at that period 35 years ago we had grossly miscalculated the Pros&Cons. I have been there at that time as a young well trained soldier -shed blood mine andalso of the "Enemies' as required. We should have remembered the story of the CAT & the TIGER, and held back our assisstance once the operation was over and the refugees sent back OR else ANNEXXED the state for our selves or at least done a BARGAIN for the POK or the SINDH areas. Now it is too late and there not a single So called Politician- who Values his Country and CAN DO SOME THING FOR IT. AT LEAST NOT IN THIS CORRUPT CONGRESS GOVT. ANY WAY Defence and Security resonnel are paid to DIE for their country and the general Public are dispensable commodity as long as they are not relatives/friends or Chamchas of NETAS
I thinked we should try to tell bangalies that they should be grateful to us for helping them. They should give up their PAKI mentality and support our goal. They are so small nation and looking at the geography, they are surrounded by big countries like india and myanmar. Bangalies cant even stand on their feet and even support themselves. Politicians in India should consider making it a part of us instead allowing them to work for Pakis.

you are wrong.this is heavy protest from a bengali. We have a population of 15 crore and we know what to do to keep the head above water. We hate Paki's and people like you.
Well, at the time when it happened it was maybe the correct decision to make, In one stroke India, Proved its supremace. It was a bold decision, but on humanitarian grounds it was the best decision to make. It is understood that now it is become the cradle of militancy in the North East, but we are not astrologers and could not predict that it would happen. But had it not been done, it could have been even worse. The true propogator of militancy is not that we made them independent, but poverty, due to being looted by the pakistanis. Maybe if it was still East Pakistan, we would have fought militancy on 3 fronts, Kashmir, NE and WB. what are rare cross border skirmishes, would have been outright war. The Hon. Indira Gandhi was maybe the last PM we had who had a resolve of steel. Wars are bad anywhere they happen, but one fought for a just cause is good. Atleast better than the US attacking Iraq, Vietnam when they had no problem like we did what with refugees by the thousands (90000 ) coming to us for help. And flimsy excuses like WMD's. There is a saying from the Bhagwad Gita, "Karmanye Vah dhikarasye, Ma faleshu Tadachana" Do your work without thinking of the outcome. What has to be done has to be done. What we say now is what we see, but Imagine if we had not done what we did, what would have happened...
