Between infiltrartion from the east and nuclear launch pads on the east i take the first one, plus if our politicians were not busy filling their own pockets this wudnt hv happened, plus lets face it the border guards arent exactly saints , curroption is everywhere in india
I believe India did the right thing by liberating Bangladesh. It was the right call at the time.
Its sad to see that, Bangladesh has so easily forgotten the genocide, pakistan committed on it, & now is hand-in-glove with pakistan against India.
But the Indian Armed Forces were downright professional in the way they executed their plan during the war. What more... they helped liberating a country... hats off to them...
In my opinion , India did a right thing by liberating Bangladesh from the attrocities being carried out by Pakistan. It also seemed like a strategic move militarily , with our eastern border free of Pakistani threat.Had we let things go on , it would have brought in hordes of unwanted refugees into India and would have continually destabilized the subcontinent.
I feel India is going soft on its neighbours. We should continually use a carrot and stick approach to check our neighbours , which are more or less all failed states. We must play the role of big brother and keep these countries from falling into anarchy and civil war.
I don't understand what type of policy India has. It doesn't have good relation with any of the neighbours. Pakistan can't see an eye to eye. Problems with China continues. Bagladesh is against us. Tibet we do not support. Sri Lanka is now looking more towards Pakistan and Maoists in Nepal is more inclined towards China. I have been studying and found that India either had a very weak foreign policy or negetive policy. Otherwise how do you describe that Bangladesh who was liberated by us barely 35 years ago is being used agaunst us by their former opressors.

Its not the failure of policy dear. If u observe any powerful state like USA, China etc they are surrounded by enemies( ex usa by cuba, latin american contries). Its all in the power game. If we are powerful naturally the neighbors feel insecure and tend to distance from u. right..
The very way the question had been asked, tells me what kind of answers u r seeking. Its a pathetic attempt to manipulate people's response on this non-issue like whether India should have had supported Bangladesh getting their independence from Pakistan. I mean now perhaps the relation between India and Bangladesh is not great but why r u relating that to what the relationship Bangladesh have with Pakistan and what India did to then East Pakistan getting their independence from West Pakistan. Dont forget what India had done to Bangladesh post independence, keep that in mind when u talk about the strains in the relationship between the two countries. Grow up and please dont raise this kind of silly questions.
It was one of the biggest mistakes India had done. We had our enemy divided into two parts and we could have always use this as our advantage. Even after 200 years of rule under British raj, we could not understand the policy of 'Divide and rule'.
I am totally in favour of India having helped out bangladesh since in the present India would have been terrorised from the east as well as the west of its borders.Pakistan a known haven for terrorists would have certainly created a problem for India.
