USA is the easiest country to deal with because all their decisions are based on one point - their own self interest !! Its time India focusses on what India wants and not what the world expects India to do.
It is interesting to see Indian people getting excited when they talking about USA. Some people think that recently proved nuclear treaty between India and US is equivalent to Nixon to China. Suddenly, Indian people feel that it is time that India start to take of and become superpower soon with US's support. I think this is an illusion. Firstly, Nixon did not make China prospective. China start her development almost 10 years later after Nixon's visit. The modern day China has nothing to do with Nixon's visit and US did not help China a bit for her development since then. Actually, it is opposite. Until now, US still has embargo to export high tech to China. All China's high volume export and US's high deficit with China is purely Chinese effort. It is not because they have good relationship but Chinese hard work. China acheived this under consistent pressure and bullying from US. Can you acheive this my Indian friends? Be your self.

Jealousy? you must be joking. Chinese do not jealous of indian but feel pitiful for indian. Indian are so poor not only economically but almost in all areas. Look at this 15th Asian game. What a performance of indian? Realy shameful and pitiful. What do you have to be jealoused? Nothing, absolute nothing. Or hang on, yes, there is something - Caste system or slavery mantality. Your guys were colonised by UK for so long so that you do not know how to behave in dignity. Either sticked to USSR before or lick US's arse now. What can I say, pitiful and shameful.

@ David: It is really surprising to see your reply. Do you know, how many traditions Indian boasts of?? The ethics, the science, the literature, intermingling of so many people with so many religions and so many languages!!! You certainly can't imagine. Had you people with a single language faced problems like us, you would have been nowhere!! What sort of culture do you have??? In terms of traditions (Khandan) and contributions to the world society China didn'tcontribute a single thing, and you can say, most of the contributions are made by the Europeans and the Indians. Whatever you achieved is only a broadcast and no one should deny, by the dint of your hard work. We certainly have missing links in our generations, otherwise, we as a society wouldn't have been so corrupt!!! So, the turmoil, which India faced, had never been faced by China, and India always happened to be a plundered land at the hands of the external aggressors, which China ne'er faced, 'coz, it had nothing new to offer!!! So, before taking a dive into the forum, read the History first.
Had this INDO-US partnership come 60 years ago, the face of earth will be different today.History is record of criss-cross currents of human actions and reactions. Few with clear conscience and fine intuition have the gift to read them, have clear visions and work them out. Goodwill resides in good hearts. I wish to see 2020. But I pray that God bless JB with all strength to make true what he foresees. The day must come and will come, for the working together of TWO GIANT DEMOCRACIES, with their HUMAN/SPIRITUAL VALUES, is indispensansable for world peace and human dignity. Yes, "In 2020 the two closest nations in the world will be India and US", for this is the least this partnership may, and must, achieve. Their joining hands is not the luxuary of a choice but a sacred duty towards humanity. God forbid their failure, for that history will never forgive. John Biden has the privilge to make his bit of contribution to this mission and vision a SUCCESS. May God bless him for that.
in basis of india-russia-china growing triangular relationship, americans are no other option but to accept there defeat in there foreign policy towards asian region. to back to there cause only pakisthan and few aggrassive nations are part of there propaganda, seems to be inadiquate to there overpower. india can grasp this oppertunity only for economic developmemt and energy sector.simultaniously the triangular relations between india-russia-china should grow to form stable peace in the neighbouring region. in wide thought it is too late to depend on america as the unstability to there thought like encouraging most volatile government and dual mind to there own nuclear treaty.it is time for us to look ourself and create a base where american have no other option but to accept us there ally for there security and finding solution for tackle terrorism.
India has to forge much better ties in its own interest.
This is because:
1. China is growing stronger & stronger every day. It has already started threatening us....(Arunachal) 2. We both are facing militant Islamists. 3. Russia had in the past really not helped India. 4. Commercially, a partnership with USA is beneficial for both of us.
The interviews cannot be taken on their face value. High talks can be taken with the pinch of salt. They are there till the US interest is served. What is important is the fine print of the agreement, which in most probability will be contrary to what is said and agreed.
This is purely absured.People who have mere common sense will understand that this is a hypothesis which may take many and several years to happen.not at least by 2020.My poor Mother land.We need one visionary leader. Not too many politicians!!
And that will be a collossal disaster for India. Half of the world=the Islamic nations would've already or would be in the process of sucking US blood! I dont think india wants to go to close to US.
Dear Rajeev, There are lot of answers in your question for your question. First thing is we must start believing in ourselves. Do you accept that there are more Indians today, above poverty line than there were 10 years agao. More and more middle class families are concentrating on education and employement. Lets hope younger generation comes into politics and attacs corruption. I am not a hyppocrate at this point but if we try to address these problems and be little more honest then we would succeed. Bring in more transparency in governance, let IITs and IIMs alos take an active participation in Politics, lets the young brains be influencial force in politics. Lets hope the younger generations see and digest the fact that corruption is the worst crime to do and let it come from with in every one. Let us make plans to see more and more people are educated, that makes lot of chanes in the socity, just see Kerala and Bihar (I am not from any of these states, honest example). With more people educated you would have more over all progress and well being. These are just some of the many things we can and should improve.
