Dear Known, Show me the list of So called Dalit leaders like Paswan, Mayavati, Dr Ramadoss, Mulaym Singh etc and ask them the same question. How many of the so called leaders of the dalits have married them to their children. I am a brahmin and my cousins have married catholic, protestant, muslim, Kamath, Shetty, marwadi etc,, in fact my daughter will be marrying a mudaliar boy. The question of caste is only for the so called dalit leaders who do nothing but make a fool of their followers. Caste is something we should leave at home for praying,,the only recourse for uplift of the poor is EDUCATION, EDUCATION AND EDUCATION. Marriages will come autmatically out of education and intermingling. Nothing comes free my dear Known. Dont try to snatch things from others and say it is levelling. Earn it , then only u will know the value of it and can keep it my dear friend. Fight the government for education instead of reservations which is rightfully yours by the constitution and if all of you insist on schools in every village for votes, in one generation, you can remove your backwardness.
Reservations are legislative (not judicial or society) response to historical social evils to certain sections of the society.
Government should scrap reservations when 85% of marriages in India are inter-caste or inter-religious.
There is a bigger problem than reservations and education.
350 million people STARVING (for which YOU and I are indirectly responsible) every day for a meal in India.
I propose a nationwide credible "minimum" income guaranteed system for every one whether they work or not will bring in "dignity" instead of desperation for the working poor and "inheritance taxes" will stimulate "compassion" instead of collusion.
Such system will prevent all socioeconomic issues in India viz farmer suicides, dowry deaths, child labor, fear, frustration, corruption, bribery, prostitution, terrorism etc.

Understand the truth...Tell me how many inverstors are from Dalit family, investing money in UTI, Mutual Funds, shares.......and in other forms comparing to high class people. Dalits are living their daily life. They are looking for their bais needs.
Reservation is not the solution ...... it hasn't solved anything in last 60 years ... what will it do in future. We need to thing outside the BOX. Our leadres don't even think within the box but just within thier vote banks. No leader really cares about India or people of India.
it is very pathetic and hurting to see all the comments posted... Everyone has left the atrocities done to bhotmange family and desecration of the statue and started debating about reservation. I suggest all read the article in the "sunday the indian" about this.. This 18year old girl priyanka (daughter of baiyyalal bhotmange ) has been gang raped and she died and some continued to rape her even after she was reduced to a corpse... When is this all going to end.. And for those who talk a lot about reservation based on caste (blaming our government) , tell is this how others should behave to a set of people only because they belong to a particular caste. what kind a treatment is all this? Unless there s a change in the minds of all people theres no solution to this... This kind of mental torture due to dicrimination can only be felt. for those who talk you cant understand our pains
If Dr. Raj thinks by these so called dalits will be uplifted by reservations, let him start a private company and let him fill all posts with dalits. We'll see where the company lands. Reservation can not be a substitute for quality. Dr. Raj don't justify what the stupid people have done recently in the name of Dr. Ambedkar. Upper cast bashing is surely not an option for your own spinelessness. How many years would you like Indians to feed you? Till eternity? from generation after generations?
I am a hindu brahmin and never in my 34 years of life have i thought to even mention that i am a brahmin. Mentioning it now makes me think that may be i am endorsing casteism even though the the truth couldn\'t be any further. I cringe reading that a demented VHP parasite stated that cow had higher stature than dalits. What on earth is happening? Are we strangling our own culture and creating a chasm which no amount of time could bridge? I am sure this issue would be a trump card with the conversion fanatics and so called missionaries.I can understand that reservation in some sense has divided the country between dalits and non dalits. We cannot however rule out that reservation has definately served it\'s purpose to a large extent. I might have put foot in my mouth with this statement but i think backward classes have definately risen from adversity to a certain degree. Isn\'t that good? I know this had happened at cost of meritocrisy having taken a back seat but then remember we have persecuted dalits for so long that the payback time was long overdue.
Udit raj is another politician who is playing caste politics to get votes. There have always been fight between haves and have nots. I think this has little to do with casteism. Haves will always try to suppress the have nots even if the race, class, religion and language is same unless there are more than enuf resources for haves as well as have nots.
Caste system is more notebale in rural areas and wud maintain it any cost because labourers are needed as slaves and fight will be more for fertile land. Only solution is free market and industrialization like USA which will bring everyone to the same level and all the differences will disappear by itself.
Till that time, we have to tolerate caste and religion based politics.

How many inter-caste or inter-religious marriages are there in your family?
Most of the reserved posts are vacant, not because of lack of dalit candidates but because the upper castes have found loop holes in the system to keep the dalits at bay and away !!!

Dear Tamil Arasan,
Your Chief Minister , professes to be a great supporter of poor people and minorities. Let him be a leader and use only dalits as employees, let him change his personal physician Dr Gopal(Iyengar) , his lawyer, Chartered accountant to Dalits and muslims. Why did he get his nephew's children marry brahmins?. Why is Maran's Son studying in English medium school in Delhi instead of Tamil Medium school in Chennai. Learn to earn money instead of snatching it free from other's pocket as if they stole it from you . All of you need brain surgery and you need to realise that your worst enemy is yourselves, who are not fighting for education , but want equality. That is the ONLY leveller.
You elect people who cheat you saying they are your representative but do nothing for you. What has Dr Ramdas done for the dalits, he has managed to make his son a minister. How has he helped dalits.
Quality compromised by poor skill and education means death to our future.
Understand the realities of life and do not believe leaders like Periyar. He did not want the britishers to go. He was against the freedom struggle. He has insulted Tamil as a language of Kattu Mirandis
Look at what these Dalits have been upto, look at the public property they've destroyed, do u think such people deserve reservation? They r jus a bunch of useless people, even if u give them reservation, they still wont be able to do any good, a dalit who has the determination wont need reservation to get a seat or job.

If you don't like dalits, why don't you seek a seperate / state/nation for your caste/community?
Well I find the author's argument here like that of a 3 year old! Does the author think that emotions run high only among the dalits??!! Well Mr. Udit Raj needs a complete psychiatric attention. Mobs only follow mob pscychology and since most of the dalits are uneducated and hence unemployed they get easily aroused and hence the widespread violence. I don't understand how having reservations in pvt sector can help one in maintaining law and order. How many dalits from the rural areas can avail of oppuritunites in the pvt sector even if the pvt sector were to declare 100% reservation only for the economically marinalised sections of the society.
