a thought provoking article.....the reservation policy has been in vogue for more than half a century and how many castes have been removed from the ambit of reservations????....do the people, who flaunt all sorts of statistics to show that OBCs have been denied their fair share, have any statistics on this issue.....more over the real prob our society faces is the urban rural divide....the goverment shcools in the rural areas are in shambles....developing these schools would do the nation more good than reservations in the IITs and IIMs
Reservation is the scourge of the nation . It started with asking for promotion and went onto appointments on government services, then now for seats in higher professional education. At this rate pro reservationist may go to the extent of asking for all sorts of occupations either private of public. As long as the cste sytem prevails and the politicals parties rely on the castes for their votes this blasphemy of Reservation in Idian political ethos will continue. Along with the MINIRITSM the affinity for reservation will push our countrty into a bottomless well. Any number of Naryanamurthys or Azim premjis cannot pull us out. By 2020,contrary whatour present President visualises, India that was Bharath would be the last in every aspect of human problems much below present poor nations. Until the blackest portion of our constitution is removed this scourge will keep knawing the efforts of all bright and industrious people. The future generation will blame the present for their miserable state.
Dear Rajat Bhai, I agree 100% with your article. Its well composed. But the problem is we the educated and intellectuals are very good in writing and speaking, but so poor in action. We cant even openly support our cause in action when some of our brothers are fighting for the cause.This is purely because of fear and ignorance. Our country already lost a lot due to such problems. Common all of us who agree with these ideas form a chain (group), compose an open letter, and flood with mails together at a time to all the party presidents and prominent leaders of this country. I strongly support this article. Every word is worth saying and correct. The people who comes into reserved category should now understand that these politicians are not loyal to their family. They can sell their mother and sister for their own favour. Because of reservation india will generate people lack of excellent skills as well as strong knowledge that one has to be. So dont come into the trap of these cheap vendors of India and Beware of these kinda international plans.
Indias population is above 1 arab but we are struggling to get a gold medal in olympic game. So our politicians should raise thier voices to reserve at list one gold in olympic game for india. Reasons are -: 1. India has 1 billion population and second highest population in the world. 2. We can't promote good players due to curruption. 3. In india about 40% population is living BPL. 4. Many people is dying because of starvation. 5. Main and most reason is that in our india there is reservation in every field like in politics, eduacation, jobs......... 6. Indias most population(about 85%)is OBCSCST and they can not get "right" opprtunities.
So international community should support india for getting a gold medal in olympia.

I am refering to Mr.Narang's concern. India is such a big democratic setup. I think the biggetst on the globe. In the past when media never suppoted a common man concern in India these debates have been surfacing time to time but of no avail.In fact these tiny revolutions have given more momentum to this stupid cause which was incorpoarted in our honorable constitution of India by a set of people. Yes of course it was the requirement of the time, then, but for a limited period, now it has become a vote bank and passage for some of the parliamentarian to the floor.
Now the requirement of the time is to unite and change the the political system of the country where representation of such lobby is not able to enter the floor at all. It is high time to clean the dirt of the prevailing politics of the country and bring an enviornment with new political system with the help of the same old machine but certainly with new burning fuel where the coming generation is able to feel free to perform and excel. In place of wasting lives and time by just blowing the old stale trumpet we need to change the system through democracy and for democracy.
I dont know the difference between an unsuccessful candidate in a competetion securing a seat because of his father's power and an unsuccessful candidate belonging to SC,ST,or OBC securing seat just because of reservations by Govt.Aren't they both back door entries.One is illegal back door entry and the other is legal back door entry.Isn't the reservations are nothing but legalised stealing of oppurtunities of qualified genuine candidates.Who will answer the agony of suppressed genuine candidates? Govts-NEVER.
Democracy is a game of numbers. Democratically elected govts represent the will of majority of people. They have to be by design selfish and work for maintaining their majority for perpetuation of their power. They need not represent will of the whole people of country.They have to continously woo their vote banks.This time 27% reservations for OBC.Next time they have to promise some thing more to woo their vote banks.It may be reservations in private un aided colleges then jobs and promotions in private comapnies then in property of individuals and then in families viz mandatory marriage of forward caste individual with backward caste individual.It is a democratic trap.
The upper middle class mediocrity always spews incoherent words and that shows in almost all the comments here. Making reservations in the cricket field and things so forth. Those kind of mediocrity is indispensable in the postboard because hardly any comments will be written by a dalit or he would have been tortured his whole existence on this planet, that it is the most disgusting thing ever to reveal- he is a Dalit.
Its has been only 50 years of "reservations". Does it count for 1000's of years oppression? If some one is loosing out his precious seat due to reservation, just keep in mind, he has not paid his due for all those oppression and repression, which is continuing.

Long story yet its not as lon as the Reservation is continuing. I am sorry, yet its amazingly true: Wherever the Reservation enters- the quality detoriated and becomes home for Goondas. once Lawers post considered to be respectfula nd had social respect- now Lawers do more unlawful acts than others. Teachers- they were paid almost nil yet they were very sincere and hard working- now they are paid heavily -yet they work only on Hartals, making the eduction a mockery. Even , in Politics, they were sincere and to some extent honest. now tehy are the most scientific robbers.
