Wonderful thoughts and good write up. It is high time that politicians above 50 years take retirement and handover the job of thinkers to young & intelligent, who will think as visionary and not as narrow minded politicians.
Politicians from all parties have only agenda i.e. Vote Bank and no one is bothered about any cast / creed / gender, SC / ST / OBC or Hindu / Muslim / Sikh / Christian etc.
If the politicians bother for any of the above and their voters, let them courage to come forward and put forward a proposal whereby
1) they allow womens quota bill to pass without dilution,
2) let CPM come out strongly and of the Govt., if they think creemy layer must be excluded from the ambit of OBC reservation.
3) let them come forward and make effort to stop school drop out rate instead of wasting money in haste for increasing seats.
Every, good Institution require time, effort and money.
Politicians, are bent upon destroying the Institutions earned reputations after so many years of efforts.
Instead of presurrizing these Institutions, why not they make simultaneous efforts in creating similar Institutions at new places.
This message is absolute realiety. All these politician who's kids are always abroad for further studies and have lot of money accumiliated from where ever possible thus are not affected. Days are not far where there will be 100% reservation under quota system which is spoiling the total education system. With the current trend where the reservation is already at its peak from where did the concerned colleges will get the faculty. This number is not increased. By simply increasing the quota there will be un utilised number of seats of SC/ST/OBC. Moreover these SC/ST/OBC will definately interested in turn to be a faculty. Even if they want to the quality of teaching is again problem. Right now the stand of the government is to abolish the reservations from everywhere. There should be reservation only on economic grounds where the farmers should not be included at all. Failing which whe will be facing more problems in the future.
All these sane voices will be voices in wilderness. Our politicians are parasites without any concern for the country or its youth. It is doubtful if many of the ministers can fit into any of the Departments they control even as an LDC. They come blindfolded from a strata of society itching for revenge for unknown, unveriable injustices but which are in fact alibis for their own incompetence and inability to work hard. Else, can u imagine a casteist chieftain from Tamil Nadu and another who said before a Christian crowd he's ashamed of being a Hindu deciding the fate of this bill with asinine insistence. A difference of 0.01% in the qualifying exams mean a difference of nearly 1000 in ranking. Three years of consistent sleepless, TV-less hard work and then some one else walks away because he/she is from another caste. They divide and rule the country. They've just forgotten one important thing. V.P.Singh after mandalising our society never won an election afterwards. But the ghosts he left behind will hault us forever. India was once a country where excess production was penalised - today this is the only country which gleefully, vengefully suppress the intelligent and talented.
The author clearly writes this with selfish goals. He wants to prevent any privileges for backward classes. These people talk of equality when their interests are harmed. They also think they are doing great service to India by talking stuff. But the fact remains that the upper castes have oppressed and kept the lower castes out of progress very cleverly using every means possible. Dont mix patriotism with your sh.. goals
I am from general category and thats the biggest problem with me.I cant get admission to IIM's n IIT's
coz i dont have that certificate. Where is democracy
right to equality n so on....
"Votes are everyhting" they dont have unanimity when it comes to Women reservation bill but when its comes to reservation all are one....Bloody Game of Votes
They are playing with the future of the nation
Think of the situation when a student is not able to make it to IIM's or IIT's coz he could not get that .001% and others got it because they had that certificate....
There are people at the top who know that its not good but the worst part is they are are not ready
to spell anything against it.
Probably what we need is somebody with leadership qualities like "Bhagat Singh" who can put forward

Great article.. Really impressive in presenting the thoughts and arguements!!! I am also against the Reservation and share the same thoughts what you have. Really, this presents the practical ground reality . In bringing the Reservation, its just like letting the disease of AIDS to share our life. What type of vision Our Parliament Members have??... if they don't(as many of them are after vote banks ), atleast they must get some sense on this isssue from their children(who themselves may be studying).
All these articles, discussions, e-votings over Rediffmail.com and other sites must be veiwed by the law-makers, or else, for which later the nation must not suffer.
I entirely agree. Quota is being used as a `Thota' (bullet). There has to be a total revamp of politicians. Perhaps, there has to come a different Mahatma Gandhi and others, for freeing India from `quota.'
Mr. narang I fully agree to what you say ? I have a couple of questions to you. 1) Will this young politicians fight against reservations. I doubt since most of them are kids of big politicians and have studied abroad , they hardly will know about what a student in India has to go through when you have reservations. Now, about the young politicians you have studied in India and are not kids of big politicians . will they fight against it? 2)About poverty .. was there poverty in India pre 1947 ?I strongly feel poverty in India has risen because of the attitude and functioning of Congress party.Congress and now UPA is trying to widen the gap between rich and poor .The rich people are getting more richer and poor more poorer. As far as middle class is concerned they are fighting to be at a place where they were originally .. simply surviving .. 3)How many educated people less celebrities from all section vote in elections ? do we have stats for the same?

for a change try hard work and use brains?? That will help you fellows to come up. If you dont have a few neurons to understand what you read then ofcourse your caste certifed status as unable to use the gray cells is always there.
