Interesting topic.I agree with you,Mr. Ambedkar has clearly said that reservation rule should be for 15years only.But then why any goverment has not made commeette to analyse statastical data of people who benefeted because of these reservation rule,before increasing the reservation %ge.Neither the society is demanding from the govt.Somebody or atleast e-media should come out with the data & made to public,instead of declaring non sense breaking news like sucide of a assam orgin girl in Delhi etc.
I wonder ever India will see the time where there will be no reservation on the basis of caste and religion. The rotten policies of every political party needs to be condemned as rubbish, beginning with the most currupt Congress!
The reservation in our eduction system make "India is a rich country Inhabited by poor people".
We have (India) the quality of knowledge. In real example all software companies around the world are looking in India. We have quality but reservation in educations, job in govt. etc makes us handicaps .we have give priority based on the ranks or scores not using reservation.
You yourself have told that no party opposes it! Atleast this should make you understand that majority of people have represented their wish and stop writing these kind of dewar 2007 stuff(Anyway I enjoyed that dialog) and wasting your time. There is always a world beyond Rediff readers like me and rediff writers like you. There is always other part of India who didnt even get a chance to sit in front of computer due to suppression. They need upliftment. Reservation is meant for them!
And dont again sing the old "Ecomomy based reservation"(I am happy that you didnt;-)).
There was a time, when Indian Railways was having IIIrd class category also for the passengers. If I remember correctly, one of the prime reason to remove the same was to avoid humiliation that may be faced by the persosn travelling by that class.
Now, the Government of India is trying to bring back the same scenario by declaring various categories of reservations in different fields.
The worst hit by reservation is public sector. getting everything with minimum. Inefficiency at all levels prevaling in PSUs. From Entry to Promotions people need reservation even they do not deserv. Total elimination of reservation alone make the public sector viable. Now this reservation haunts private sector where efficiency alone matters. No reservation please.
