recently a so-called US educated young breed leader from a famous political family who has all his family members educated in US of A said that he supports reservation.....do u want me to give the name? so which leader u referring to....
Of course everyone have their point of view. But a person giving intellectual lectures as Sri Narang should have known one thing that education is a basic right of people which cannot be compared to Bollywood, cricket or Politicians.
I'm sure that god is also crying by finding how much backward classes our politicians are, so created by Him.When the world is progressing in a rapid pace, we are pulled back by these so called politicians.
On one hand we say that, we are entering the 21st century as a global superpower and othe other hand we go for reservation after sixty years of our independence.
i feel myself ashamed to be so called Indian now which follows racism now also, not practised anywhere in this world

So it prompted me to comment on this blog.100 words were not enough to tear your looney thoughts .Fortunately or unfortunately rediff offers a service of commenting with the limit of words.With my dial up connection and the unpredictablity it offers, i always have the habit of copying and saving whatever i type down.. i tried posting it 3 or 4 times.. words exceeded the limits! its obvious... i cant mince my words for reasons like this!!!
NARANG :I agree reservatn is a very complex issue and should not be leased out for the govenment at helm to decide the increase/decrease of it. There should be an independent body over looking this issue But can never writeoff reservatns quoting that it creates a rift in the society based on castes.India is a multi ethnic nation, has made a constitution whichtries to offerthe maximum parityto its citizens. That is why when our constitution was conceived, they found an urgency to help the down trodden or the oppressed classes in India. It was not a Looney decision at that point of time, for the people who conceived it coz they never had to woo any of the voters coz; they were unanimously the choice of India as a whole. Time flew by, and things have changed, we have propelled to 21stcentury, but things have not much changed in the case of this oppressed class, May be because they never were willing to change or were never ready to take risk. It is not because of anything, it is because of a collective conscious that forces a lower caste to abide his way rather than popping out of it.hence the govt offers reservation after indepth study: Nobody begs for it, its a privilege offered!
CONTINUED : Most of the comments i read here sounds, People tend to relate them to the issues around. You started the debate stating all those hardships you went through your life . And seem to proud about what you did. Great!! However,when it comes to a wider issue like reservations, it shows your immaturity
and ignorance about the issue, calling reservation the begging bowl and things like that. Millions in India are tortured and harassed in the name of

The upper middle class mediocrity always spews incoherent words and that shows in almost all the comments here. Making reservations in the cricket
field and things so forth. Those kind of mediocrity is indispensable in the national newspaper because hardly any comments will be written by a dalit or
he would have been tortured his whole existence on this planet, that it is the most disgusting thing ever to reveal- he is a Dalit. Eons of terrible sufferings has almost waxed their mouth to shout out their needs. If they do we have our culture-vultures, who predominantly belong to this middle class and OBC's who have the right to chop of their arms and squeeze their eyes even stone them to death. It will indeed be a great day when SC/STs will not need reservations. I think that time will come if there will be a caste free society. Now I do not see the author dreaming about a society where everyone has equal opportunity. Rather he has a myopic view of Government colleges and offices without representations from all the constituents of this country. There are no people on the street demanding equal right for primary education of kids begging on the streets. We don\'t see the so called youth for equality taking cause of sc/st women who are raped and tortured. All they want it to reserve future of their caste and klan by securing seats in the government run institutes and then crib about the reservation policy. This anti-reservation stir is nothing but shameless display of greed hosted by the upper caste media and the author of this article is nothing but a blogg monkey.

Well said Sid. None really understands the social complexities involved in our system and just trying to secure a haven for their family & friends.
Where have you been, you saviors of nation, when poor tribals and SC's needed your help to get rid of the castist discrimnation? Is only IIM seat reservation spoiling the country not the oppression of under-previlaged? Actually, its you all who are the social-ills of our country, you oppurtunists.
