'Mumbai passengers treated badly
by Srinivasan Ashok on Aug 26, 2006 12:23 AM  Permalink

This is a good lesson for all of us that how to behave in the flight. No need to blame any one. unlike India, western countries are determined to protect their country from another terrorist attack.

Not a good Gesture
by Sanjeev on Aug 26, 2006 12:22 AM  Permalink

I dont think that the authorities have any right to make the vulnerables feel that they are powerless.Unless the suspicion is proved correct, they dont have the rights to behave unhumanely as told by the author.Though i agree to the fact, that the behaviour of the 12 passwenger was suspicious, and they shouldnt have done it in an immature way.And I was convinced when the crew members took them out of the flight. But the way, this whole episode took place is important.

Serves them right
by Sreeni on Aug 26, 2006 12:03 AM  Permalink

I agree, the Dutch did the right thing. There is something called 'common sense' which is clearly lacking among these bunch of idiots.

Sorry my brothers, no sympathy for you here.

these 12 passengers are misbehaving in the flight.so dutch authorities is detained them for violating the flight rules. and there is not question of mistreating crew members took the actions as per rules. IT has nothing to do with asian or recism.

India is only country where culprits won't get arrest and pundished. secular neats, upa and secular media is making unncessary noise b'cuz passenger belong to minority community.thse ppl should apologise for causing inconvience to rest of passengers.

Treatment of 12 Indians by Dutch authorities
by C V R Bharati on Aug 25, 2006 10:29 PM  Permalink

The Dutch authorities should have been more stricter and locked up these guys for atleast one year. For their misbehaviour, many others had to suffer the inconvenience and loss of valuable time.

Indian Government seems to be indulging in vote bank politics when it is trying to protest regarding the treatment meted out to these 12 guys. What does the Government expect? That everyone in the world should show consideration to such ill mannered guys who dont have the reasoning power to figure out how to behave when travelling by air so that we dont get into such a situation. Their behaviour brings bad name to India and Indian muslims all over the world. While our country has been trying to project all over the world that there are no Indian muslims in the terrorist ranks like Al quaeda, the Indian muslims themselves are trying to prove that the Indian Government is wrong.

Unruly behavior
by bltzkrig on Aug 25, 2006 10:13 PM  Permalink

Why is it that whenever a bunch of Indians get together, they cannot follow rules? I see this all the time. Any time a flight is full of Indians, the plane looks like a school bus on a picinc - everybody out of their seats, lounging about, talking loudly to someone three rows away, and most annoyingly, constantly asking other passengers to exchange seats for one reason or the other. It's no wonder the Dutch crew got uneasy.

Mumbai passengers treated badly
by labrea on Aug 25, 2006 09:23 PM  Permalink

As for being treated 'badly' - how would the Indian police have handled the same situation? With these guys sporting stereotypical BinLaden-style beards and behaving like they did, one can understand the concerns of the other pasengers, especially with the ongoing terror alerts regarding Paki terrorists - how does a firangi tell Paki from Indian - to them all South Asians looks alike. It's an open secret that the behavior of South Asians leave a lot to be desired, usally prompting one to wonder which zoo they've just been released from. Also, the behavior of the detainees seems a bit out of whack for folks who said they've been travelling around the world for years selling their garments or whatever - surely they must know to put on their seatbelts, unless they just wanted to be obstreperous and obdurate, just to tell folks that they are there, like African-Americans talking very loud at malls and other public places - the you-can't-ignore-me syndrome?

I dont agree the way DUTCH has behaved. There should be a way of treating customers.

Its their duty to make sure that things are secured before passengers board. How can they suspect 12 passengers like this.......without any proof .

I think they deserved it,on board, in these days any suspicious acts thretten the crew members, & ultimatly they are held responsible. These passengers did not liten to the announcement of the crew members & behaved like rouges, I feel that these passengers should be punished for creating trouble & inconveniance to co passengers who were unnecessarily stranded. The passengers should behave properly 7 co-operate with crew men, if anybody fails to do so should be punished severly,I call these passengers idiots who have only mony & no manners.
