THIS IS RIDICULOUS!
by Sid on Aug 26, 2006 03:22 AM  Permalink

I would just like to ask the government, what they think about the treatment normal people get in our own country. How the people at embassies behave with our own countrymen. How our police treats poor suspects? I would like to know what they think and do about it before raising fingers against someone else. All this hypocrisy is only to satisfy fools of the first order!

Treatment was fair enough
by Karl on Aug 26, 2006 02:18 AM  Permalink

The 12 men have behaved like illiterates. They were not travelling in an Indian train or janata gaadi. They were in an American carrier, where the level of terror scare is higher. If you outta be treated well, then you will have to follow the rules.

It is a common fact that Indians in general and Muslims in particular dont abide any rules. These guys are supposed to be 'frequent flyers'. Frequent fliers dont exhibit such immature, arrogant and childish behavior. These 12 young men deserve what they got. Trust me, the Dutch were fair enough. The treatment would have been worse in any other country.

Why would anyone behave like this?
by Akshay on Aug 26, 2006 01:27 AM  Permalink

I don't understand why anyone would behave in this manner on a plane, when everyone in the world is aware of the hightened security and alerts.

mannerism in flights
by Rajarshi Pal on Aug 26, 2006 01:10 AM  Permalink

These 12 passengers are either uneducated or think themselves above all rules and regulations. The Indian Government must thank the Dutch authorities for handling the situation nicely and should learn from them.

Unfortunate incident
by Gagan Sharma on Aug 26, 2006 01:05 AM  Permalink

I belive both parties involved in this unfortunate incident are responsible for what happened. The passengers must follow the instructions given to them by the Crew Members. Imagine some accident occurs due to the careless attitude of any pessanger than the Crew member will be directly held responsible for not controling/reporting well in time and also putting the life of other co-passengers in danger. And our fellow Indians were really engaged in some stupid acts at Take Off of the Plane (as per the details came out). They were too careless to follow the essential norms. Also, the security personal were too harsh in treating them later on, they behaved in a intimidating aggresive manner. Probably, they were scared and over-cautious because of the London-US bound Planes conspiracy. Yet their narrow-minded approach is not a good sign. They abused innocent Indians mistakenly and which is condemnable.

12 crew peopl
by Shalaka on Aug 26, 2006 12:51 AM  Permalink

I think they deserve the treatment that they got. Infact I feel they were treated much better than what they deserved! Its an offense not to listen to the crew and with all these terrorist things going on they should be little sensible to co-operate with people. When we leave our country we should not do anything that will bring shame to our nation, and these guys behavior is shame for the whole country!

Treated rightly
by Vijayan on Aug 26, 2006 12:45 AM  Permalink

According to the story, it seems that passengers were treated as they deserved. They refused to follow repeated requests of the Cabin crew. Airtravel safety demands that we behave according to rules and regulations. We Indians are notoriously famous for indiscipline in every place (most of them !!). I have no sympathy for the Mumbai passengers who were treated badly.

mumbai passengers trated badly
by rohit akhauri on Aug 26, 2006 12:26 AM  Permalink

Hats off to Netherlands govt. They showed their alertness. This is a very good start and we should encourage these kind of action. This is the time when even a little indifference can result into a death of many innocent people.

All those who ware detained ware so rude to the crew member and there should be a law of code of conduct in flight. At the time of take off they ware using cell phones. They should be happy that they are lucky enough to get scotfree.

Again I heartly praise inflight crew member, Netherlands govt and Airport authority for being alert and for detaining them. I also appreciate them for treating them in the way they deserved.

Thanks Netherlands.

I wish India could show the same kind willingness and alertness to crack down suspicious activities and rude behaviour.

no big deal
by Sandeep on Aug 26, 2006 12:24 AM  Permalink

WEll, thats the way you got to behave towards terrorists.Indian passengers never listen or obey the instructions anyways.Considering the recent events of terror activities, the authorities had no choice. As for the passengers...serves them right, they will obey the instructions next time.
