Vande Mataram
by ejb on Aug 24, 2006 02:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In the recorded history of mankind, no single word has been powerful enough to change the regime, get hold of generation. Our freedom fighters like Azad and Bhagat Singh recited this word whenever they were tortured. This word gave them the power to do impossible things. (Becoming a threat to the regime at the age of 20 is feat unparallel). Whats wrong if everybody has to sung this song. May be we are stretching personal freedom bit too far. Its about nation not particular religion.

This is the same problem that we can see in europe spl France. In the name of individual freedom they have not tried to integrate the immigrants in the mainstream of society creating small islands of community which cannot relate the nations values.

I didn't go through ur article in deep
howeve ur question - what do I mean by Vande Mataram is
If it is not PRAYING TYPE OF THING then it is ok.
Because a mother land should not become GOD including own mother and father, u can ofcourse sacrifise ur life for your Country, nation, mother and father, it does not mean that they should become GOD.
GOD is super natural power, the SHAKTI
free from SHAPES,THE MASTER, THE CREATOR
a saint, a person with values deserves utmost respect, but neither of a person like u and me becomes GOD.
for GOD sake Pl. think seeriously about this, un biased, without prejudices, think neutrally, then reply me back equally publish this at ur site, both end communication.
may GOD ( ALONE SUPER NATURAL POWER ) bless all, and give light to every body.

Naseer,

Your message seems that you are a person who doesn\\\'t know to respect your parents,,when you have respect towards your mother automatically u will feel respect towards your motherland...
u people are not fit to stay in this mother land...
Better u people/leave this country..
All Muslims who are not willing to sing the Vandemataram can leave this Sacred Country.

Naseer,

You are absolutely correct. We should not pray or make humans as gods who may be teacher, mother, father. A GOD is a GOD. But however mother land is a feeling or proud of being an Indian. She gives you peace, land to live, provide you basic amenities and many more. It is truly your existance in the world. Do you agree with this?

Hi, I went thru your comments..however here no body is placing our motherland in the place of god. It just a way to show respect for your country but i guess it is a bit too much to ask from you people and it has been the norm ofthe day that your community portrays that they are being victimised and seek exemptions in every walk of life. My suggestion to people like you is please move out of my country and live in a place were showing love for your motherland is not required.

What Vande Mataram means to you?
by Vivek on Aug 24, 2006 02:21 PM  Permalink

Atleast one good step taken by Arjun Singh throughout his entire political career. Children will get an opportunity to know what it means to be an Indian and whay ther are living in freedom. Couldnt have been better.

As for me I am a proud Indian who has very high regards for our freedom fighters as well as those who have laid down there lifes defending our country in the wars that we had against Pakistan and China. We can never repay the martys of Kargil. This is a good ocassion and way to remember them....Vande Matram

Song of inspiration
by Balachandra Patil on Aug 24, 2006 02:21 PM  Permalink

'Vande matharam' is the song of inspiration. Here is its meaning...

Mother, I bow to thee!

Rich with thy hurrying streams,

bright with orchard gleams,

Cool with thy winds of delight,

Dark fields waving Mother of might,

Mother free.

Glory of moonlight dreams,

Over thy branches and lordly streams,

Clad in thy blossoming trees,

Mother, giver of ease

Laughing low and sweet!

Mother I kiss thy feet,

Speaker sweet and low!

Mother, to thee I bow.

This song inspired Indians during the freedom fight. Every Indian should respect this song( at leat looking at its meaning). If some one try to insult this or hate this to get political importance then, it just indicates how much he loves his mother and mother land. Any person who doesn't love his mother and mother land is not fit to live in this great traditional country. Government should make a rule to sing this song in every school and colleges as well as in office's everyday, at least to remember the people who sacrified their life to free mother India from the hands of British. This song will definitly inspire every one to feel that we are one and united.

- Balachandra

Does Arjun singh know anything about our culture...or bout secularism. may be he is so much in politics that he can afford to be ignorant about these. Crores of common people who hate Arjun sigh must have some reason to hate him. To polititians secularism means to sing for minorities and ignore the mazority. WE ARE HURT

I think singing Vande Mataram is showing your love and affection to your country.

As this is not related to any particular religion, you can always show your patriotism by this.

Life
by Onkar Kothari on Aug 24, 2006 02:17 PM  Permalink

Vande mataram,

Vande mataram is life for me.

There is only one shcool in Pune where students don't welcome their teachers in the clss with the words "good morning sir / madam" or such greetings, but they say "Vande Mataram". Yes, each and every time, at the begining of every lecture students all students in the class say Vande Mataram.

That School is Pune Vidyarthi Griha's Maharashtra Vidyalaya, in Pune.

I am proud to be a student of thar Great School, just like I am proud to be an Indian.

I feel all schools should follow this practice and this will be the best regards for those who gave us what today we all have but don't know the its value, our FREEDOM.

Vande Mataram.
