The song makes one feel as one with your country - may be the country we all want and do not have. And as its mandatory to honor the National Anthem (Jana Gana Mana), the National Song should also be honored when sung or played. Does anyone question whether Vande Mataram as a national Song? Since there is no controversy on that then whats the problem - where is the issue?

seems you are the only enlightened one....asfqullah, maulana abul kalam, abdul hamid all were fools to sing Vande Mataram...or they were not muslims...tell me who do you think is more respectable...Bukhari or asfqullah, maulana abul kalam, abdul hamid??
vande mataram means i worship the mother. only a true patriot can see the country as a mother. are people opposed to singing this saying that "this is not my mother land". are they living in india on a contract basis. the problem is islam is a religion that does not have roots over here. the parsis, the sikhs, the budhists, the jews, even the christians do not have this problem. why is shahi imam cynical? when abdul kalam can say vande mataram, why can't you? asfqullah, maulana abul kalam, abdul hamid, irfan pathan, zaheer khan, are they not bonafide muslims. the very song vande mataram was made popular by a r rehman a devout muslim. the shahi imam has started playing his dangerous game of divide and rule
Vande Mataram issue is just a political gimmick.Have u heard that any Muslim from our soil denied to sing national anthem ?.no not all V all Indians including Muslims are singing it uncontroversially.then what is the need to force Muslim to sing Vande Mataram.Is VM is more Imp then national anthem?
V Muslim believe in one god and not allowed to worship some one else and singing Vande Mataram is going against this ideology that is the reason why Muslims are bit hesitant to sing Vande Mataram.
I have read number of texts on this discussion ask us to leave the India . First of all we are not outsider on this soil. V born here an this is our motherland Pakistan has born after my fathers birth then how can you tell us to go to Pakistan.our Parents did not go to Pakistan after partisan this itself prove that we love our land then Pak.
Same time Muslims should handle this issue with delicate hand as it is related to national feelings.Muslim should understand that singing Vande Mataram for country wont disturb their faith as V are just singing it to praise our motherland not for worship .
We all Indians should think in in terms of co-existance and take each others sentiments.
Vande Mataram seems to have more patitism feeling within it than compared to our National Anthem. However, it is a trend to respect the anthem on special days like 26th Jan and 15th Sept.
Politicising this issue does not seem good. I remembered Mohammed Bin Toglak while reading this article. :)
they are not from India. They have no respect for India. We are wasting money on these people. Basically political parties to votes are giving unnecessary support to these so called minoriteis. Leaders like Bukhari are too dangerous to India. they are worst than terrorists. One who doesent have respect for India should be kicked out of India. Another person to be kicked out is Mulian Singh Yadav, who can do anything to gain muslim votes.
