Vande Mataram
by Rajesh on Sep 07, 2006 04:27 PM  Permalink

Dear Sir,

If Vande Mataram is a National Song then every indian should respect and sing it without any objection. But the problem which we are facing here is whether Vande Mataram is fit to be a national Song. I Feel that we should call our National leaders,Scholars and thinkers on this matter and should decide whether Vande Mataram is fit to be our national song.

Thank you,

Rajesh

Customs do not have logic: Same with Vande Matharam
by Raja Mohan on Sep 07, 2006 10:27 AM  Permalink

With due respect to the opinions of other readers I want to preset my version as follows:
There is a difference between tradition and custom. Customs are more stronger and beyond logic.
If some people want to scritinize the meaning of Vande matharam and it's hostory to become emotional on either side, I feel we also need to verify many such things. We may stop saying Sun Rise as Sun never rises and Sun is stand still. We still refer to SUN RISE in our day to day actions and never thought about the changed meaning of Sun.
Vande Matharam was in place as National song. We in our childhood started our day with Vande Matharam and ended with Jana Gana Mana.
It was people like VP Singh and now Arjun Singh who made this an issue and once it is identified as issue it is very difficult to justify either side. Tomorrow some one may come and ask to modify Janaganamana to include Uttaranchal and telangana (if formed) in the song and may start agitation on that. We may also see another group questioning the design of Indian Flag and may argue that safron color implies blood.
I pray the god to eliminate these poisonous politicians from the universe.

What Vande Mataram to me
by shekhar kulkarni on Sep 06, 2006 11:51 PM  Permalink

Perhaps if our mother india express like human she will definately cry. For me the Vande Mataram is vedic richa,a heartiest call to our mother land remembering glory, dignity of mother from which we have our identity but our leades can;t know as they don;t have ears to mothrs call also as they become deft in selfishness and power, our leader dont sing as they lost their voice as their souls dead for dirty politics .Same as Shahid Bhagat Singh for british to hear British govt we have use strong action then they come to about our mother

Vande mataram is acceptable to us Muslims

Muslim Support for Vandemataram

Though a number of Muslim organizations and individuals have opposed Vandemataram being used as a "national song" of India, citing many religious reasons, some Muslim personalities have admired and even praised the Vande mataram as the "National Song of India" . Arif Mohammed Khan , who was for a long time Member of Parliament have even written an Urdu translation of Vandemataram.

Arif mohammed khan's translation:-

Tasleemat, maan tasleemat
tu bhari hai meethe pani se
phal phoolon ki shadabi se
dakkin ki thandi hawaon se
faslon ki suhani fizaaon se
tasleemat, maan tasleemat
teri raaten roshan chand se
teri raunaq sabze faam se
teri pyar bhari muskan hai
teri meethi bahut zuban hai
teri banhon mein meri rahat hai
tere qadmon mein meri jannat hai
tasleemat, maan tasleemat

Vande Mataram
by Dr.D.Suresh on Sep 06, 2006 09:42 PM  Permalink

I believe in my opinion that the rendition of 'Vande Mataram' by the citizens of India should be one for all. No matter what religion, race or creed you are.I am a Malaysian by nationality and even for me the rendition of Vande Mataram is very emotional and patriotic. It is not that i am a Hindu that i am saying all this.In Malaysia there some state anthems which are sang by all irrespective what religion we are consists the word 'Allah' which means God to the Moslems. There are many other matter or scenarios which depicts that Islam is all and Moslems are all.Yet Malaysia still emphasises to the world that it is an Islamic country with secular tolerance. We the Non-Moslems are able to tolerate this through passage of time and the strength of our faith in our respective religions. Please stop bickering and do render Vande Mataram no matter what religion you are for you must realise that it is a patriotic anthem for your great country India .Any thoughts of religion outcry in this is simply your weakness of your faith in your respective religion. After all do you sincerely believe that your GODS can be assailed by this great anthem!!!

VANDE MATARAM
by tr. madhavan. on Sep 06, 2006 05:03 PM  Permalink

Since a decade it has become routine for the Imams, Personal Law Board Members and Muslim leaders to issue counter orders and rake up unnecessary divisive controversies. Following them other Hindu leaders etc. For example, in Christian Missionary schools all the children (Majority and minority) has to recite couple of stanzas from the bible, along with National Anthem and pledge. Why they have not objected to this? Imams are preachers of the religion, Personal Law board members are there to protect the rights of the community they are not supposed to issue orders for every thing and add communal colour. First of all electronic and print media should not give much importance to the religious and other leaders. What ever may the Government's dikhkat, media should not approached for (religious)their views. In our country present day politicians always want to be in limelight and there are electronic and print media for them they want to news to fill up their columns or programmes. Atleast now, the veterans in the present parliament should bring about a solution on various vexed issues instead keeping live.

Advani against 'mandatory' singing of Vande Matram
by Asif I Merchant on Sep 06, 2006 03:00 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

if u do not find the URL : http://in.rediff.com/news/1998/nov/21vande.htm
Then here is the text:

////*
Union Home Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani today said he was opposed to the ''mandatory'' imposition of the singing of Vande Mataram.

When asked to comment over the move of the Kalyan Singh-led Bharatiya Janata Party government in Uttar Pradesh to make the singing of Vande Mataram compulsary in the government-run schools, the home minister said he would ascertain the factual position as there were conflicting reports on it.

Advani stated that it should not be 'mandatory' and that the people should be allowed to accept it on their own.

The UP government's reported decision to make the singing of Vande Mataram compulsory had attracted sharp criticism from none other than the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board.

The board president Maulana Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadvi, popularly known as Ali Mian, had asked Muslims to withdraw their children from the schools where the rendering of Vande Mataram has been made compulsory as that song is not true to the spirit of Islam.

Thanks Asif,
Thanx for sharing such information, now also these people won't open their eyes, they don't think that its the politicians that are making such hype to come to power..when they were in power, their behaviour will be different, when they are not, they change their colors...by any mean they want to come to power...during the course they won't c whether they are spoiling the entire nation or not....most of the contravencies are from politicians only.... the actual matter is very simple, if you are interested in singing vande matarm, u r free to sing, but if one is not interested, no one should/could/would force him to sing...thats all.....
