Why is every one making so much fuss about singing Vande mataram... if some one wants to sing its fine if not.. whats the big deal? what difference it makes any ways? Patriatism can be shown in so many otherways not just by singing or saluting the flag... Love & respect cannot be gained by force.. it should come from one's heart. More over only intellect beings can understand music of song and enjoy it right? if you ask a water baffello to enjoy music can it? or can a stone sing?
The blog for every article in rediff is now becoming a message board for the RSS,VHP & affliates .Fortunatly these fanatics who blog here are only 2% of the infamous 2%. Ironically, the poor majority whose vote counts don't care much about songs being sung in praise of the nation when they and their family go to sleep with empty stomaches every night. And nobody including these fanatics , care a damn for the poor or their hunger. They are more interested in pushing through their selfish agenda of songs and poems, which the poor voter has no interest in & has no need of. That's why when it was time to vote, the poor voter has given the so-called Vande-Matram patriots, the kick in the teeth they rightly deserved, for neglecting the real toilers of so called hindustan.
We the students of JMI (Jahangirabad Media Institute) strongly opposed this illogical and senseless controversy.the irritating & facist comments made by political parties and exclusively the citizens of INDIA,who are saying "those who dont want to sing VANDE MATRAM may leave the country". i would like to ask such orthodox patriots that how will they feel if the same comment is made on them that "those who want to sing may leave the country??" this is very absurd and illogical to go deep on such issues.

Dear Asif I Merchant, I dont support focring all to sing this song. But Vandematharam is not a religious song so cant be compared with Quran which belongs to Muslims. Have you seen Indians in Saudi opposing to sing national song (Not sure if there is any) of Saudi or surrounding countries? Do they have that much freedom to express their feelings? I know some of these countries where wearing Burkha is a rule for any women irrespective of religion. And you cant have group gatherings or functions belonging to your religion. In India we are more democratic because of which we hear people questioning National song and may even question National flag.
If I were the PM I will not force all the people to sing this song, because if the song doesnt inspire some people that is it. For ages I see many Indians irrespective of religion sitting at home when Flag hoising happens. It was quite common and acceped. Whatever hapened now is purely political just to show how much politicians are concered about so called secularism. Otherwise there are already crazy trends like some people criticing Mahathma Gandhi, some people disrespecting National events, some people prasing US against India.
From Puranic Ages land is treated as a mother and respected in india. It is not that after independence we preached it as a mother and give our offerings. So all those who lives in india should respect india as mother and respect in its own tradition. Not in an modified european or arabian style. Muslims should become indian muslims and not any saudi muslims. They can freely follow their religion in our country by respecting the mother culture.
VandeMataram is to be made our national song by an official order. Otherwise tommorrow some muslims will feel very miserable to call Gandhiji a Mahatma since Atma is the word originated from sanskrit and it means soul and muslims dont believe in souls. Dont make a climate where some citizens can freely say "sing jana gana mana..." if you need it or else modify it in urdu or arabic.
Muslims enjoy freedom and due respect in india than any other country. So let muslims change their attitude to become indian muslims.
Nothing is out from india philosophy. Even Allah... "The Indian Verse of Allah is Parabrahma" like hindi and urdu

Let me tell u that, in saudi there are more than a million expats from india, 100s of thousand are non muslim, But I never heard or read an incident of forcing them to read any verse from quran.
Previously I ofcourse I agree, that they were forced to pray, when it is time to pray. But as the people get educated they came to know that forcing anybody to do anything is wrong, so it has stop almost everywhere.
I just want to say that, the things which are going on now in our country is not the one which is done by literate people. I request everybody that feel free & let everybody feel free. Because we are a republican nation. Jai Hind. May India be victoriuos in every venture. This is a wish of a muslim and dua to Allah.
Peace be on earth. Just embrace it. It is in front of everybody.

Hi Asif, I think immigrants/expats are different from citizens. No foreign muslim was asked to sing Vande Mataram..
Politicians- Stop Misleading People from the real world & sopt wasting public funds for unneccesary items start working to build our country for our children , which at present u r ruining
VandeMataram is our National Song and is not based or sung about any religion in particular. I wish my Muslim brothers understand that. It just happened that when the song was written, some words relevant to Hinduism were used, because the person who wrote it was a Hindu. But the song as such was written only about our motherland and not about any Hindu God/Goddess. But at the same time, I would feel that singing of that song, should never be compulsory. If someone, considers himself as patriotic, then he/she would be able to decide, whether to sing or not. Nothing should be made compulsory. Am sure that there are lot of true patriots in Islam and they do respect our national song. Its only some politicians who create the spark, by bringing in unnecessary topics. Again there is another controvercy about our national anthem. Dear brothers, please learn to give respect to our national anthem. It would have been written in praise of some English person. But right now, its our national anthem and of course, it can be considered as its sung in praise of our nation. If we Indians start fighting on all these things, the outside world would mock at us. Respect our National anthem and Song.
This is the weirdest thing to keep fighting about! Imagine for all those decades people sang the song and today some people on the claim of being religious, are finding fault with it. Does this mean that all the people before of any religion who sang the song were fools! I would consider they imbibed the true spirit of Indianism than us today who claim to support our country! What politicians are trying to do is to gain publicity. These politicians spend valuable time in the parliament playing with the hard earned tax payers money, not knowing the value of it, not knowing the hard work people put in it!! When will some educated Indians enter politics!! First it was the British trying to split us up, now it is these politicians wrapped up in all their luxuries claiming to be supportive of the common mans cause. As if these people really care what is been sung or what happens in the country! Hypocrites of the first order!!!

Dear Sir, The song Vande Matharam inspired many freedom fighters during those days of freedom struggle. When it inspired us, it was not the meaning rather than slogan which touched all our hearts. Now the song inspired politicians like VP and Arjun Singh. And today politicians are doing post mortem of the song and extracting all sorts of conclusions as per their preferences. As you mentioned let us not carried by all that. We are all Indians and let us work towards other serious issues, and make India the greatest in the world. If we are in that direction we will definitely have another or even Vandematharam itself that can make all of us united without bothering about the in and out of song's meaning. Best regards, Raja Mohan
