No duobt, the relatives of the detainees were upset because, according to the rlatives, they were not terrorist but innocent traders. The problem was that the Airline authorities were not convinced. They thought the group of 12 people could be terrorist because they appered like Muslims and were found to be Muslims --- the religion were a lot of members practice terrorism as their religious duty. Now a stage has come where you can not say which Muslim is a terrorist and which muslim is not a terrorist. They may be educated and have no criminal record and may be very well behaved in public. Thier religious identity has become a cause for suspesion.
In other words, in some way, this 12 detainees became innocent victims of terrorism. And the relatives were upset.In my opinion, the relatives should take it easy.They were only detained and questioned.--- Just imagine how upset were the relatives of the victims of 7/11 Train Blast? They were just blown into pieces by Muslim terrorists.
The muslims are always free to come out of the terrorist religious identity. At least, they can be clean shaved and dress and appear like normal people and shed terrorism and live as humans.
what i personally feel is that the incidents taking place around us are not good for our civil society .this is the second case one was the european couple refused to fly and the passengers until and unless they were offloaded from the plane. these kind of action will aggrevate the situation to worst. my fear is that the entire system across the globe will collapse and if this happens thanks to Mr.Bush and Blair.I fail to understand why they want to rule the world in their fashion .they went to afghanistan returned empty hand,went to Iran where are the WMD?went to Lebnon were is hezbullah.they have created a sense of insecurity among all the people of the world . both of these dont want the people of the world to leave in peace for reason best known to them.
Though, not at the scale of what has happened in Amsterdam, I too underwent an unpleasant experience of a similar kind in the London Gatwick airport. The fact that I was carrying a passport pouch under my shirt aroused the suspicion of a few fellow passengers and I was reported to the anti-terrorism squad which frisked me at the terminal before boarding. Being Asian has become a taboo when you travel abroad. I hope the Indians detained in Amsterdam are released soon and the detaining authorities are made to apologize for the inconvenience caused.
I would like to request all my country men to behave properly on air crafts.
While travelling on flights I have myself observed, that once the aircraft is bound for india, peoople feel as if they are in india and they can break whatever rules they want.
I have seen people not obeying rules about seat belts and cell phones, which "indians " would never do if the flight is towards a foreign place, but they always do if its homecoming.
They would not even follow the advice of airhostess sometimes of being seated while the plane is landing.
Now if we are not disciplined like our foreign counterparts, we better be so. What would the foreign airhostess think.. that we indians are so misbehaved, we do not even follow rules.

Ashish Saab: You are absolutely correct. They should have behaved properly at plane. As far as rules and regulations are discussed, they should be followed all the places and not only at a flight. What would they have said if the plane were really blown by some terrorists ?? Prevention is always better than cure and thats what the dutch authorities did.
The security people are not god, so they have to act depending upon their gut feeling and most likely facts. The fact that most terrorists are muslims is not a hidden fact and if it goes as a bitter pil for the muslim community then so be it.
Only detention does not mean being a terrorists, it only means that you were being thought of as being one, whihc is but a part of security for our well being. Thats how we should take it.
Dont worry its not a matter of beard, in every air port security personal checking to those person also who has not have beard and moustache.
If someone is not a bad element then why should he scare for security check?
Suppose somebody would have wrong person in plane and blow out the plane then?? So cooperate at public place and dont care what people think about bared, just think you are honest person from heart.
Hi, It is very unfortunate to know that muslims all over the world are being harrased. It is very disappointing. Authorities are now suspecting based on relegion and not on the suspicious activities or person's history. This is what has exactly happened time and over. Consider the fact that those arrested in UK terror plot recently were Brits converted to muslims and not exactly muslims. They should be labled as terrorist from Britain and not from any muslim country. A Hindu, American or African can be a terrorist as well. Give some handsome amount to any poor, distressed, lethargic person he will be ready to bomb a mall or kill civilians. Leaders carrying out these activities have only survied just because they have funds to lure such people; with such week morality. They would think that anyways we are living a life as good as death so why not give a chance here to earn easy money and live a better life. Look at history of riots happened in India. Where all of them started by Muslims? I am a Hindu but have equal faith in what Kuran teaches Muslims is what Geeta teaches Hindus. It looks like Jinnah is dewling in millions of hearts!!! God knows when this rubbish will stop!!!
