Its really nice to know that an Indian government agency is doing so well despite the fact that most of the government organizations are just doing nothing at all and only spending taxpayer's hard earned money. ASI must be congratulated for this job nicely done. But I think lots need to be done at home too. There are so many historical places in India having tremendous potential for tourism attraction which are in really bad position. People use the walls of these historic monuments as their personal blackboards. ASI should take steps not only to restore these places but also to maintain them so that they can become financially viable. Many temples which are very old are still not bieng maintained. I hope along with restoring historical places worldwide ASI will also pay attention to take care of very old but not so famous monuments in India as well.
Very funny that so many temples and the places of world heritage in India where the ASI or the government has not even given a thaught to restore and are at the verge of destruction and are going here in there helping others...ridiculous.
I am surprised to know the importnat contribution of ASI abroad, But more surprised that what ASI do in INDIA. I visited lot of places in India, and know some places of which they even do not care?? Isnt it strange??
Reading the article , it seems that ASI is doing everything for foreign governments and their historical monuments. Is the work of ASI is finished in India ?
