it's shame that an entire community resists to praise their motherland.are they not the citizens of india?do they believe that serving allah is more important than serving the motherland.every indian should proudly sing vandemataram.its ridiculous that
politicians like arjun singh is afraid of the imams comments.this will simply encourage jehad and terrorism.anyway each and every hindu will celebrate the centenary.

Are people India lost the plot? Why there should be debate on Vandemataram? As a Indian we should all sing Vandemataram irrespective of religion and gender. If some doesnt want to sing Vandemataram then he/she not an Indian therefore they have no respect towards the nation. Mr Arjun Singh you become a Minister for HR because we have got the independence from British, sir let me remind you we have got the independence by singing Vandemataram. I can understand that you dont want to hurt Muslims for the sake of votes but same time you should understand that you hurting millions of Indians.

WHOSE LEADER ?
by Hanif Mohammed on Aug 22, 2006 07:14 PM  Permalink

Who said Imam Bukhari represents all Indian Muslims ? He is definately not my leader !! His views could be personal, as he is ignorant, and fooling the majority of likewsie followers, to retain his hold on the community. We do not need him to represent us, and he has no support from us either. Its time the moderates come out of their shells, and stand up against such bogus leaders !!! The song in question is not a prayer, it is only praising Mother Bharat. If you go by the views of Imam, then his interpertation could be that Muslims are not allowed the sing the National Anthem either ! He is a bonker, and don't take him seriously. The media should boycot him, as he is getting unnecessary free publicity !!! To all sensible Muslims - lets all sing VANDE MATHARAM.

Vandemataram
by Kesireddy Sreedhar on Aug 22, 2006 04:57 PM  Permalink

If Arjun Singh says there wont be any force for singing Vandemataram, its OK. But the real challenge is from the religious leader who asks all his community people, not to sing this.Only knowledge less people will think like this. What's wrong in singing that song, 'Vandemataram' means 'Maa tujhe salam'. Every one can sing this song happily keeping atleast their own mother in mind, If not the "Bharat Maata".

I'm glad that Vande Mataram is being debated in the parliament.Abuse of our democracy by the imam/s must be stopped. It's an criminal act.
Islam is misunderstood and misrepresented by all these imams. And this tool is being used simply to spread hatered and violence among the citizens of this country. This is nothing else but evil.
Imam has offended us. He must offer oppology on tv to this nation. The Indian government must punish severly such offences in future which only generate hatered instead of love and unity. Allah or God is love. And love, mercy, kindness and forgiveness are the messages in all the religions. That is the basic and fundamental essence of any religion. He really doesn't understand what Islam is, does he? By PD

It's a shame!!
by Md. Yazed Alam Khan on Aug 22, 2006 03:25 PM  Permalink

It's a shame to see the parliamentarians roar over the issue of singing Vande Mataram. These bloody political leaders don't even understand or don't want that, some developmental activities should be initiated for the entire mass, not for a single community. But, instead they are playing dirty politics. These are all traitors. On the other hand, the BJP_shiv Sena coalition is trying to encash the situation and in turn these bloody leaders are applying the same "Divide & Rule" British policy. Are we really independent? I don't think so. This is a question of our National Song, and we, the Indians must sing it. It should not be left on personal preference. Please, true Indians..just wake up and save this country from another partition!!! Islam doesn't preach like that. Please, do not drag and tarnish Islam...Those who don't want to sing Vande Mataram...just get out of India and go to HELL.

The very fact of refusal....
by chanakya on Aug 22, 2006 03:24 PM  Permalink

....is the testimony of their lack of loyalty to the motherland.

For them the din comes first.

Bilaad (homeland)can be looted by gaznis and ghouries.

This jamaat will ultimately ruin Bharat Varsh if not straightened up with the Uniform Civil Code, and a compulsory Vande Mataram.

Cant adjust ? then migrate to the naapaak.

Ask any member of the kaffir community, and this would be his/her spontaneous response.

However, our leaders are all married to the illetimate child of our consititution, the false and farsical seculalrism !

My foot !

Vande Mataram
by Sreejit on Aug 22, 2006 02:21 PM  Permalink

Vande Mataram was a war cry which basically means Mother India I salute thee. I see nothing wrong in people singing this. This has no leaning toward any religion or any community. I dont really understand why the Muslims should have a problem in singing this. Arent you people sons of Mother India. What is the shame in reciting the national song which arguably could very well have become the National Anthem.
Why shouldnt it be made complusory? Just like we need to stand up for the national anthem singing the national song should be made complusory on Educational Instituions. Not only on Sep 7th but once evry week. This would help create great patriotic sense among the children who are the future of our country
