'We don't understand power'
by labrea on Aug 22, 2006 08:53 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Touche'. India does not understand power or how to use it nor how to project it. India's central govts are weak and inept, unable to effect matters on her own borders - B'desh, Sri lanka, Nepal, Tibet, Myanmar and of course, Pakistan - it's all because of the endemic communal, destructive and divisive politics which is practised, resulting in weak executives with little personal power. Maybe it's time India moved away from the British parliamentary system to something more akin to the US, with a powerful executive president, and real legislatures.

Interview with MS Arundhati Ghose
by K S S on Aug 22, 2006 05:02 PM  Permalink

I have read all the three parts of te interview.

I have a humble submission to Ms Ghose. I doubt if this will reach her.

Ms Ghose should write a book on the things she talked in these interviews and also related topics. I would buy those books and make all my relations read it.

Atleast she should start writing like Mr Bhadra Kumar, just to educate people, because if she does not who will; the knowledge and experience she gained should spread far and wide in this country.
