India can always walk out of Nuclear deal
by Jayakumar on Aug 17, 2006 12:41 PM  Permalink

In the interest of the common man in India, we should
go ahead and sign the deal; political parties oppose
this deal because of their self interest; scientists
oppose this because there could be a threat to their
freedom. But in the interest of country's need for
enregy and for its progress, we should go ahead.

We can walk out of N-deal
by Sudhanshu on Aug 17, 2006 11:21 AM  Permalink

The people who have supreme control on Nation, those political leaders and the Nuclear scientists doing the premier research for India I trust them both as they wont play around with National interests.

But I wish to see India getting rid of energy crisis, being a strong nation which is strong in terms of giving a better life to its citizen rather than being a strategic country having big nuke armaments. The poor and average Indian wants that there should be cheap and fair share of power given to them, they don't bother how they get.

Please be clear with your approach dont play two chords here matter is of utter importance we dont want to reinvent the wheel neither do we want to kill our self relaince completely. But please do see past 59 years we are doing good but we are definitely too slow and we have burgeoning energy crises, disparity,
scarcity there are villages yet to see power we are buying oil at heavy very heavy price so if some Nation which mind you is a strong nation if offering some assistance why to make drama about it or if we do back out make sure we have a "STRONG RESEARCH AND RESULT BOUND BY TIME LINES OF 5-10 YEARS TO RAISE OUR OWN SURPLUS POWER". Dear Sir,
I strongly support the article and the author ; At the moment the ball is between the U.S. president and their congress : if their congress does not ratify the bill as it is and discussed by the two heads of their states, then only our P.M. can tell america that
due to pressure from my parliament I cannot agree to the amended deal or not. At present it is just a storm in a tea-cup and a bit early to brouhaha about.
Also we do need their help other wise what was the need to sign the agreement for and also it is fair and logic about them to worry about the Iran factor from their side and perspective.

Can walk out of nuclear agreement
by Ishwar on Aug 17, 2006 02:55 AM  Permalink

what if India wants to walk out of agreement even if nothing is violated? .. Like we want to focus fully on military portion?
He says only about the case of full conformity.
