One inefficient guy out and another in?
by subhash sirur on Aug 16, 2006 11:09 AM  Permalink

Mr.Vilasrao Deshmukh,The least you can do is to send in your sons' membership cancellation letters to Khar Gymkhana. You gor them membership because you were the Chief Minister. In short the post you occupied was a post for illegal use for self betterment monetarily of otherwise. If you have any self respect,pl send in the letters to Khar Gym asking them to cancel all your sons' memberships.
Regarding Rane, can't Mrs.Sonia Gandhi find an upright person who is interested in the welfare of the people of Maharashtra and not of the Builders,Smugglers, the corrupt? There r no more good people left in the Congress party.Only dealer wheelers ande dalals. When the State is reeling under floods and farmer suicides, the likes of Prabha Rau is very concerned that her suppoters have not been appointed to head Corporations, where they can make money. So is the case with Margaret Alva. Two of the gang of four under Mrs.Gandhi.

Dehmukh out.Rane in?
by ANAND TEERTHA on Aug 15, 2006 03:00 PM  Permalink

It is business as usual for the Cong-I to change CMs.Cong-I makes Brahmins as CMs in the first intalment and during the second instalment / elections they make ST/SC/OBC person as CM.It is unfortunate that Cong-I has been dividing people and cheating the electorate eversince we got independence. This time it seems they have chosen a shiv sena defected Rane because he knows in and out of the hindutva brigade apart from his know muscle power and resourcefulness. Moreover it is pure and simple that Mr.Deshmukh several years ago failed to contribute Rs.30 -40 crore per month to cong-I high command and payed the way to Mr.Shinde to become CM.Finally, Mr.Deshmukh's problems are that he failed to (1).mobilise funds every month as prescribed by the high command (2).Mismanaging Deluge,(3).Failed to contain law and order and (4).failed to control infighting in his own political outfit. The new CM is destained to fail in all the sectors except arranging monthly "funds" regular contributions.

Deshmukh on his way out
by pranhakar gatade on Aug 15, 2006 01:08 PM  Permalink

It was Sushilkumar's trrn to lead Maharashtra. However, plots by the OBC lobby to oust him were afoot even before. The defeat of his wife from Sohapur, his native place, was contrived by that lobby even if it amounted to cause ill omen to others by cutting one's own nose.Shri Shinde was shunted out as Governor to Hyderabad. He belongs to the Dalits and had be been retained when the time of change came, it would have created a good impression among dalits .However, this was not to be. Deshmukh , a comparative novice was brought in and as they say the rest is history. Apart from the two fronts noted in newsitem his record in other respect was also indifferent. Justice requires that Shri Shinde should be brought back. It will the right step for the ensuing elections. However, the signs are that Rane will demand his pound of flesh.Let us wait and watch--helplessly.

Change of guard

Mr. Deshmukh has been soft peddaling the issue of co-oepratives and undulyl and uneasonably protecting those who fleesed the poor depositors. Even Prabha Rou is to blame for that, as one of the congress functionaries was involved in the scam and all efforts are being made to protect him at the cost of over 67000 depositors.

The matter has gone so far as to distabilise an independent administrator who has been able to collect around Rs.50 crore out of the total NPA of Rs.138+ crore within a period of just four months.

political crisis in Maharashtra
by Mangesh Chitnis on Aug 15, 2006 12:44 PM  Permalink

The ruling alliance in Maharashtra does not have an absolute majority. In case congress party high command
wants to unseat Vilasrao it should consult its prime
ally that is the NCP.The NCP may not be in favour of
replacing Vilasrao by Rane.As regards the other three
contestants viz.Sushilkumar,Patangrao and Prithviraj
neither of them is capable of leading the party legislators.Rane could be a good option if at all the
NCP high command accepts him.

by subhash sirur on Aug 15, 2006 08:07 AM  Permalink

The Congredd does not have anyone of stature in Maharashtra?Mr.Rane and Mr.Sushil Kumar Shinde, to de-reserve more plots for the builders? To loot the state and the people? How many racketeers are we going to quietly bear?Is it not time for the people to fight against appointmenst of such people?
Appoint a proffessional to run this state. There is still a chance that Mumbai can be saved.People of Mumbai and Maharashtra, raise your voice against these expected changes.
