India can become a super power only if 90% of it's population becomes literates , if casteism is abolished,a good governance without corrupt politicians both at centre and state level and strict population control methods to be implemented.which in my opinion very unlikely .
Still has long way to go, shouldn't get complacent with few successes. We are way behind in providing basic Healthcare, clean water and sufficently nutritional food for all the citizens of the country.
If India becomes a superpower by 2050 I will be extremely shocked and happy too! India will never manage 2010, I wouldnt even comment on that! You Indians get over-excited very easily, thats quite sad, you are only kidding yourselves. How can a nation with 350 million destitute people, thousands of backward villages, thousands of slums and strife ethnic conflicts become a superpower in 50 years let alone in 5!
India is a country that is too far ahead of its time, first clean your streets before you launch rockets into space - otherwise the problems you will have would be unprecedented - which can be seen.
The biggest problem that poses a big threat to India's destruction is, GROSS SOCIAL INEQUALITY. The people who are responsible for this are not the poiliticians, but the people of India, especially the middle classes. But remember one thing, social inequality and injustice breeds only one thing - TOTAL DESTRUCTION - and nothing else.
I know how everything works in this hypocritical society of India. Whenever disaster occurs and people die, everyone makes excuses and ignores what has happened, whereas the people who suffer, they suffer!
Ha ha ha !wot a joke not a bad idea, but it will take another 60-70 years to be superpower,we have just started kicking and there are miles to travell.needless to mention as we all are aware of social and economic problem.
If India is to emerge as superpower, it needs to : 1) Concentrate on development of village economy (we have Thousands of villages)and rural development 2) Sustain the development of urban areas by concentrating on the proper infrastructure such as waterways, drainage etc., Nowadays we see fast urban development without creation of planned infrastructure 3)Develop the infrastructure like Roads, Ports and Rails 4)Mandatory and free education 5)Cultivate discipline and old Indian values of God-fearing. Nowadays we see complete lawlessness in most parts of the country 6)Develop a common civil code by involving all religions
We can substantially improve the conditions of our Govt Schools and hospitals. Enough funds are already allocated to MPs, MLAs and other local bodies. How much of these are currently being allocated by these honourable people for their local constituencies. Almost nil. Because they think it is the responsibility of Education & Health departments. As long as we keep passing the buck we can continue live in fantasy, keep going to astrologers...
