Hi Nikhil, Happy to see that population is noted as the no.1 issue. Many of us think corruption, brain drain and communal issues etc as the main reasons but I feel they are all by products of high population. If we are only a few in my house I dont mind sharing with others. What if hundreds of people are in the small space? Obviously we will try for short cuts to eliminate some people to get the priority. It can result in to corruption, it can be quotas, it can be other parameters like caste to make small groups for vested interests or brain drain to run away to another place where u can breathe well. Whenever some one wants to fight out for any issue, I think by default if we fight against increase of population it will resolve the issue. Best regards, Raja Mohan

Well in 2021 we'll still be much better of of than whichever cesspot and hellhole you come from.
We need to take concrete steps in following aspects : - 1. Population. It is high time now we start saying Hum Do Humara Ek. This has been effectively done by China. Strict laws independent of religion should be made. 2. Large investments in Infrastructure are required. 3. Free and good quality education system a must. 4. Steps to irradicate corruption. Do not dilute RTI. Make every GOVT department to have its website and working email id. This will automatically reduce corruption. Introduce e-governance at every place possible. 5. Make PAN compulsary at every place. Bring big and rich farmers in to tax net with token tax. 6. Big Drive to punish those indulging in female foeticides. 7. Mass education, tratment and support related to HIV. make Pre-marital HIV, Hepatitis B and C tests compulsary.
If all these steps if take with strong political will, then India will surely become developed by 2010 or at least 2020. Jai Hind.
If India has a vision to be a superpower any time, it must very quickly make a significant improvement in:
politics of convenience,
Politics of curruption and vendetta,
vote-bank politics,
corruption in civil service,
efficient, tranparent, and competent judiciary
Also, it must move away from quota system of any kind in any employment, education, or business opportunities. All these should be based on their merits.
Is it possible. Yes if our people get rid of dirty politicians like leftists and mulayam out of ruling in next elections. And we have technocrats, scientists and good administrators at the helm of country and free of corruption and nepotism.
Its simple. we have all the resourse needed. only lacks will power of corrupt politicians. ask them all to gather at a seminar and bomb it. Then we have a fresh blood into politics. everything will be in line.

1. lets glorify the good politicians besides criticising the corrupt politicians. We need more quality people into politics and good ppl will not get into it unless we show respect towards the honest and pragmatic ones up there who have got into the gutter to clean it.
2. We need to propagate good civic sense and keep our cities cleaner. 3.keep on going the growth path.
4. keep our institutions like the supreme court strong and have authority.
5.reduce the religious hatred in ppl.
6. respect our sporting heroes and try to prepare sportsmen and women for olympic sports.
7. create rural job opportunities rather than job guarantee.
8. have a national retierment scheme and health policy for the elderly, this will encourage ppl in investing more than in saving.
9. build more roads for high speed traffic. time makes money.
10. build a timeframe for removing caste based quotas in jobs and education, keep a quantifiable target for uplifting ppl who need help in gaining prosperity and work on a warfooting to achieve the goal. quotas for infinite time will create more lazy ppl, that is something a to be superpower will want the least. Lot of hard work is required.
India will become a superpower when it learns to do the following:
1. Its citizens learn to respect its own citizens 2. Provide food, clothing and shelter for its elderly and disabled (the real disabled) 3. Decent medical care to all its citizens 4. Free education (decent) upto high school and 50% of higher education in engineering, medicine and sciences provided free of cost. 5. Eliminate corruption ....this means someone investigating and prosecuting the likes of the Nehru/Gandhi family and punishing them for possession of a dispropotionate amount of unearned wealth
Just the above with the 5th being most important will change things to the point that Indians want worry about being powerful.

Agree with you 100% Singapore did not become singapore unless lee kwan pushed out all resistence of left red parties and socialists out of the country... too much democracy which can be purchased is the problem of this country.

Its good to be angry, we need that. Yup, India is indeed run by myopic morons with unbelievably regressive mindsets. the very idea of he becoming a superpower 2010 is laughable. But then, things ARE changing. things are happening. Slowly, perhaps too slowly, but we're definitely on the right track. It WILL get better. Its better now than it was in the 90's. It was better then than it was in the 80's.......... The pace of change(or the lack of it) is mind numbingly slow, but at least we're heading in the right direction. So keep that smile on your face, and lets be as honest as practically possible in our own lives. And lets be generous and kind. Lets not let the cynics win. there are lots and lots of good people too, lets try to be one of them. It doesnt take much. jai Hind.
