Rains in Mumbai
by Devang K on Aug 07, 2006 04:42 PM  Permalink

Mumbai needs better and concerned leaders who knows the value of this city else we are close to those days when no big companies will want to have a setup here.

Lot of people migrate to this city in search of job resulting in space crunch. Overloaded trains, buses and traffic jammed roads is what this city is today.

Now to add to it is the rain trauma. 2 to 3 inches of rainfall and the city starts flooding with kneedeep waters.

However, instead of blaming BMC and other civic bodies we need to blame ourselves for the waste that we generate and dispose off without sensing the damage that will be caused due to this. we blame the BMC for not cleaning drains, but its the waste and plastic that we dispose clog the drains.

In short, we have to change a little to make a big difference and than we have right to blame anyone else.

Thanks to the heavy Rainfall
by Harihar k on Aug 07, 2006 04:33 PM  Permalink

Due to the heavy downpour observed last saturday and sunday the Central Railway trains were operating at extreme efficient level. Thanks to the people of Mumbai (Mumbaikars) for keeping the attendance thin at corporate offices.

The drown of the concrete jungle
by Rishabh on Aug 07, 2006 03:05 PM  Permalink

It has hardly rained 200mm and already the Mumbaikars seem to be returning home.Forget the spirit and save yourself, this seems to be the prsent motto.
I believe that everyone is frightened after the deluge last year and every heavy shower is compared to 26/7.
Mumbai has undergone too much concretization in the past few years and it is impossible for the rain water to not get logged.
It is for us to understand that rains will pour down heavily and not blame the authorities but ourselves.

Mumbai has a bad doctor.

Called Johny Joseph.

Corruption has translated into gross insubordination, gross inefficiency and a total lack of conhesion or coordination in the running of the affairs of the BMC with which mubaikars' veins simulate.

If Johny finds the whole thing just too much for him to handle, he should resign gracefully.

Rather than letting the city get mortgaged to the vested interests, unless he is a part of the whole process of systamatically mortgaging mumbai.

heavy waterlogging
by AD on Aug 07, 2006 11:55 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Even a day's shower results in severe waterlogging at Wadala (east). Would BMC please take cognisance of this and address the same.

They promise.

They promise cure within 2/3/4/5/6/7 years or may be within 10/20/30 years and so on.

The rascals know pretty well that they are not going be around then.

Why dont you %$#@ing rascals cure or at least make an earnest beginning today ?

The fact is noone cares.

Waterlogging excepted, what acceptable explanation does Johny have for the road conditions ?

Or is he not responsible for that ?

Than who is responsible ?

Osama ??????
