The Maoist have only one agenda - to create a ruthless totalitarian communist state. To do that, they must first destroy the monarchy and any future govt. They are close to achieving the first and are certain of the second, as any newly elected govt would be very weak, inept and corrupt - the politicians are too fractured, selfish, self-centered and power hungry to put aside thier self-interests to create a unified front to tackle the many problems faced by their country. The Maoists strategy is to refuse any accomadation with the king and parliament, thus giving legitimacy to the continuation of their insurgency.
