Another Gandhi
by Aditya on Apr 27, 2006 04:13 AM  Permalink

Indian mindset has been reduced to one of slavery and sycopancy. It is diffcult to imagine that we do not someone smarter to lead our country than Rahul Gandhi. Rahul's only qualification is that he belongs to the Gandhi dynasty. If we are going to elect him just based on this then it proves that we don't really have democratic system. We are more like a monarchy. Does anyone remeber Honest Guys like Kairnare or Bhatia who actually did some good public service? I guess not because they were not born in rich and powerful families. Rahul is going to end up as another failed messiah like his father. God save us!!!

Father--- nO degree
Mother-- no degree
Son--same
Academic credential-- Nill
Rajiv Gandhi came into picture after Indira died. Sonia and her kids came into picture after Raajiv Gandi died. Social activities Nil. They win because of the large no of uneducated mass and the Gandhi tag.
They don't know anything about india..but they are India's future leader..Really shame.

Can Rahul revive Congress in UP?
by Ruchir Joshi on Apr 27, 2006 01:50 AM  Permalink

How many people know that when Rahul G declared his income before last Lok Sabha elections, he declared he owned an IT company in Mumbai which had Rs. 20 Lakh worth of Assets. Investigations revealed that the office was a one-room flat that remained closed forever. The company did not have any employees. That's Rahul G for you.

Let's talk about his experience. He is raised in the atmosphere of extreeme sycophancy by Cong workers. They are ready to prostate to him at the slightest excuse. He never had to participate in any tough dicsussions, his education in fuzzy, he hardly participates in Parliament. Does he have the experience to lead in UP? You make the choice.

Does he have the experience to lead the country? You tell me. My answer is "never ever". Just because he is a Gandhi, he will inherit the intelligence of acumen and intelligence of his dead family?? If that was the case, Rohan Gavaskar would be opening for India, Milkha Singh's son would be the fastest Indian, Randhir Kapoor would be as good an actor as Raj Kapoor.

People, wake up and get out of the habit of performing pooja to Personalities. Judge them by what they really are, not their dead parents and grandparents.

Rahul
by Dr.anil on Apr 27, 2006 12:38 AM  Permalink

What India needs is people like Rahul to take the lead.I fully endorse his views. We need to get rid of the likes of Mulayam and Mayavati if India is to forge ahead. The sooner the the better.Rahul is the future of India and let us back him to the hilt.I hope UP has turned a corner if the people realise the folly of caste based politics of Mulayum and Mayavati. The less said about BJP the better. They are the scum of the society.

Rahul.. huh?
by Duh on Apr 26, 2006 11:16 PM  Permalink

Rahul can do what again? He couldn't even finish his college. Just because he is born into Gandi family qualifies him to be great leader? Just because he keeps quiet means he is smart? How about using fraction of your brain?

Can Rahul revive Congress in UP?
by anmol zutshi on Apr 26, 2006 09:13 PM  Permalink

I think that Rahul can not only revive the Congress in UP but also other states where the Congress is in ruins. We must remember that the Indian Public cannot forget the historical significance of the Nehru-Gandhi family who have time and again sacrificed themselves for the country and have won elections and faith of the public democratically.
Rahul is a fast learner, intelligent, honest, humble and has a sense of history aswell as a vision. But to be a great leader he has to meet the 'people' of this country, the young and the old;the rich and the poor;the children and the women and understand their aspirations and beliefs. He has to explain a common vision to the citizens effectively so that people come out and vote for a better tomorrow and not based on their caste or religion. No doubt these play a major role in India at present but we have to try and move on,not by denigrating any religion or caste but by presenting an overarching vision of India.
Rahul can also revive the Congress if he is able to rid his party and indirectly the country of rampant corruption.Corruption has become like a Cancer in the country's veins and is holding back India and needs to be dealt comprehensively.

I'm amazed
by Vaibhav on Apr 26, 2006 08:17 PM  Permalink

I must accept that I'm really amazed to see most the reactions here. In fact, my opinion of India has a long way to go to become REAL democracy has strengthen. Why does Congress need Rahul Gandhi to survive in UP? Was there any GANDHI available when Indian National Congress started the great Indian freedom movement? Then why do they need someone from Gandhi dynasty now? Why can't they become TRUE grass root level party which they were once? What Rahul Gandhi has shown up until now except from winning from Amethi which anybody with 'Gandhi' surname will do, thanks to media hype and manufactured glory of all Gandhi's? I'm personally NOT opposed to Rahul. My only point is that he should emerge bottom-up instead of top-down!

As for if he can do it, HE CAN'T. Same things were said for Sonia and she couldn't do it. In fact, number of Congress MP's are same now as they were when Sitaram Kesari was Congress President. Its just the manufactured glory of Gandhi's that they are held as survivor of Congress.

Congress will not only survive but will FLORISH if it is handed over to common man as it was in early 20th century. For this to happen, english media needs to mature first!
