Rediff is going the Times of India way, which is really sad. Earlier one just had to visit rediff home page to get links to well written insightful articles. Now one has to visit the news section and even here you guys have started posting BS.
Good to hear Priti making some sensible talk..but nothing new ! Yet, she's far better...atleast she talks of people and india unlike many other Bollywood puppets.
But she too has to understand, India cant be WEST. she forgets that india still has poverty, and social security of western system is applicable when you have a small yet rich country, with a growing population (and population growth is not a threat). Its about to sink in France, and its a big threat for Germany. Indian's basic problem today is inequality...the poor gets poorer and the rich gets richer. A mind can think straight only if the stomache is atleast half full. Ofcourse things are improving, but this is the crucial stage. The fundamental difference of west and east is, in east, we follow the most ancient social system, which is called the holistic society..and the west follows social contract system. In a holistic society, shame controls the right and wrong (Quoting the chinese proverb, "You are not a thief untill you are cought"), and in west, Guilt controls the right and wrong. I do not think that India is going through a major face lift. There is basically no change. Poor People are feeling miserable. They feel bad that they voted Congress to power just for measly Rs.500.00. They do not have shelter, clothing, food etc. we are not geting the basic facility such as electricity, infrastructure and other public services. How do you think India is changing. You can see stray cattles on the road, garbage is piled up everywhere, healthhazard weeds are grwing in abundance. The Govt.'s horticulture dept., sewerage, and MCF have stopped working. There is no cleanliness anywhere. Even the roads are bad.
i find she is down to earth personality and aware of the happenings around her. many a times, she talks a lot which in many occasions invite the wrath of her enimies.
I think people in rediff are seriously short of some headlines! or subjects for that matter i mean c'mon for Gods sake ! does she even vote ??? is she any kind of reformer ? done something to stand up in the society ? The headline is flaunting itself with Priety that shes some sort of a huge pilitical figure contesting forthcoming elections.
