Nepal's got a very unique culture. Solving the situation by King Gyanendra and the other concerned leaders will help the people of Nepal and preserve it's culture and the monarch thought would remain.
It is very sad that a HINDU KING is stepping down by his misbehaviour/poor handling. The economy of countries like CHINA,SINGAPORE,Malaysia etc are growing(They are powered by similar mechanism) as they proved well and working for growth. The people are bored with racharikam. It is purely king's failure to loose people's faith. It is very sad and both king and people realise later and terrorists have a jackpot to play within and also with INDIA.
End of an era and the beginning of another. Nepalis love to celebrate even at smallest of excuses. They have reason to do so now. But there doesn't seem to be any immediate solution to many many problems. Uncertain future awaits for Nepal and players are just waiting to pounce on any time. Having struggled for such a long time, it is time to go a little further and settle things for a long time to come. There are options like bi-party system of government. The present monarch should read some pages from the draft constitution of Bhutan.
The King of Nepal should be supported by India and by all Hindus.Maoists cannot be controlled by any political party in Nepal.Democracy is unsuitable for countries like Nepal and also India which sees Laloo Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav being elected. As for Nepal elections cannot be held in Maoist infested areas. There is no organised force in Nepal except the royal army. The King should be given a time of say 6 months within to crush Maoists and India should give military aid for it.After that democracy can be restored.India's UPA supported by Marxists-the brothers of Maoists is supporting the Maoists because of Communists. The BJP and its allies should raise this issue and support Nepal. This what I would term King Gyanendra's excallation to power. An orthodox opportunist and power hungry man he is, i do not think he will easily step down from his prideful pedestal. The reason i suspect this is, people who usually come to a state where they gave everything from a state where they did not have anything, tends to be arrogant, selfish and proud. Worse, can an avatara of Visnu be so foolish and cynical. I take his life as an insult to the religion of Hinduism in general! To me he is not the 'last Hindu Monarch' but "the Hindering Link"!
