Dance Bar Girls
by MMSharma on Apr 12, 2006 11:43 PM  Permalink

I wonder why at all these bars were ordered closed.A harmless way of entertainment and source of earning for the girls. Better than driving them to flesh trade.

Yes, they should be banned for ever. It is a social evil. It gives entertainment, mostly to men who leave their wives and children at home, leaving them alone, spending money, throwing on the floors to please those dancing girls and depriving their family members of many of the needs which they could have fulfilled with that money!!!

It is a strong weapon to break a home, family life and relationships between father and children.

DANCE BARS SHOULD BE BANNED FOR EVER.

ban on dance bars.
by latesh on Apr 12, 2006 11:36 PM  Permalink

Today is dark day in history of Indian judiciary. For once it seemed one of our ministers did some thing for the well being of the society. What are the NGO`s and bar association crying over the loss of job to 75000 bar girls. Tomarrow it will be said that the underworld activities of extortion and kidnapping is not illegal as it supports the families of the people who practice it. Have any of these people enquired into how families these girls have destroyed. And the people who spend this money from where do they get his money. Do u thing anyone in sense will spend his hard-earned money in such fashion. The root cause of corruption in large scale will be these dance bars. For if there is no place to spend these illgotten wealth there will be less temptation for such pracices.

For once our politicians had done what is expected of them. But our judiciary has undone all this. And how much did these people spend to get this verdict in there favour, must have spent much more than 13 crores.

Dance Bar Ban
by Rajas on Apr 12, 2006 11:32 PM  Permalink

I think that Dance bar should be banned. the step taken by Maharashtra GOvt was right and reason given was also correct. If Bar association members and especially bar girls think that dance bar is not indecent and they are not doing anything which is wrong in society then why were all bar girls covering their faces in front of camera n in rallies against ban? As they cover the face that indicates that they also know what they do is not something for which they should be pround. They r hiding their faces..

Another question is of employment..

Dance bars n prostitution are simplest sources of getting paid for a woman. But they r the worst jobs from social n self respect point. If atall they want to earn money... they can work in other places.. may b hotels etc. where education is not a prerequisite.

The pseudo moralists should be locked up first and the keys thrown away in the ocean .It is my personal experience that these moral policemen are the worst perpetrators of depravity when no one is watching . I am from Assam . Over here the prime examples are the AASU and the youth brigades affilitated to various political parties who will go to any lenghts to stop a musical show in the name of protectind decency , at the same time turn a blind eye to what is being showon on TV channels . Of course it is all about money . No wonder Indians are trated as super clowns in the international arena .Who can flush them down the toilet??

Dance bar
by Krishnan on Apr 12, 2006 11:20 PM  Permalink

Dear Sir,

I support the decision of re-instating dance bars

in Maharashtra. I want to ask one question the

government authorities: "If you move one street

another you can see prostitutes are sitting and

calling the public to join with them. Why the

government is not banning that kind of actions?

They simply banned the bar dancers. I think this a

pure political stunt by government."

Regards,

C K Krishnan,

There are so many high priority areas for Government to concentrate on, e.g. farmers' plight, unemployment, precarious power position, infamous failure of Urban Co-operative Banks, Infrastructure building, etc., etc. Leaving all those, why should the Government and the Babus kill their time on issues which are capable of self-management/correction! The spate of attaks on innocent girls and women in several parts of the State may be attributable to abrupt closure of dance bars. In addition to revenue loss to Government itself, the ban has ruined the lives of thousands of girls who have no special skill or other avenues for gainful employment. Government can of course restrict and regulate the bars, but not altogether force clousure.

By continuing the litigation, Government will go on spending and taxing the time of its staff in unproductive areas.

Should dance bars be allowed.
by Nitin Jhanwar on Apr 12, 2006 11:11 PM  Permalink

No society is an ideal society. Society would cease to function if their is no space for some of its non conventional people. Moreover this dance bars provide employment to lots of people. Due to culture values we should make sure that these dance bars are not in residential areas. Other then that I dont see a problem in allowing dance bars.
