Yes, they should be allowed

Dance bars should not be banned. These girls are taking care of their entire families. Govt. cant do its own work, they just take a issue to trouble people. If they cant stop rape cases, forced prostitution, daily eve teasing, dowry, female foeticide, infanticide and harrassment of girls then why act moral police only against those who are weak and helpless. Govt. cant stop boys from doing wrong so they ask us to wear burkas, not come out of our homes. Why?

The Ban on dance bars..
by Rashna Sethna Dasgupta on Apr 13, 2006 07:59 AM  Permalink

The attempt to ban dance bars, in itself, was foolish in the extreme. I have heard Mr. Patils outpourings in the matter, of him flinging, with wild abandon, such terms as 'derogatory to womenhood, indecent, obscene, vulgar - and a whole lot of other terms that surely are worn out by now by over use. The fact is thw it is women who are responsible for their own dignity, and that dignity is surely not to be defined by such people as Mr. Patil who should have remembered, in the first place, that he is unqualified to make such observations or take such steps, as, being an Indian politician reduces him, with instantaneous effect, to something less than human or human dignity. Did he wish to ban 'vulgarity'? Then, why not ban the entry of men instead, into bars, men of Mr. Patil's fraternity, whom women are forced to serve, with their dance? It is very easy to talk of morals. I am gald that justice has been re-established; more than any other issue, girls will not take to crime, and won't starve, because of the whims of some odd politician!

Dance bars
by Dr.P.Tauro on Apr 13, 2006 07:39 AM  Permalink

Dance bars should be allowed since they provide some employment but the bars themselves and with help from decent citizens or NGOs, should frame their own regulations depending on what is moral and immoral. The government nor the politicians should not do this. In the world outside India and Pakistan, such bars exist but the dance girls dance in a specified place and those patrons who wish to dance are also allowed to do so in antoher separate place. Hence with abit of regulatin, dance bars can be mae into places of both entertainment as well as employment.

Yes! The dance bars should be banned completely, which are exploiting women, who want to earn money through easist way instead of a decent job, which they can obtain after getting proper education; they can sought education at any age.
