For a person like you this statement is not expectable. Agreed you had very bad experience in Mumbai riots but you should also think of hindu families who were living in muslim locality. If you continue to write in the same way you have written this will serve no purpose but only give light to the old buried bad memories. I am sure you can find lacks of families who dont want to live in localities where most of the population belongs to other cast. There is nothing wrong with jains of Gujraties if they dont allow a family to cook non-vegetarian food, they are strict vegetarians and other should understand them also.
I simply dont understand why you are expressing something in public, which is too personal. I request you to not to give this type of statements looking at national interest.
I also request rediff to read and analyze all the articles thoroughly before offering it to public.
Lastly to inform you that Mumbai is the best play to live.
Discrimination among the human being is across the globe, it is wrong. But arranging Vegetarian society separately I dont see anything wrong in it.
Reading your story, it gives the first feeling that you yourself is so HIGH in discriminating between Hindu, Muslim and SIKH.
The way of presenting and regenerating the Moral of Hate among Hindu, Muslim and SIKH, was not at all required. It is not at all required to remind what Sikh and what Muslim has suffered in past. It is Hindus also who has suffered. SO PLS DONT SEPERATE HINDU MUSLIM AND SIKH and present your STORY.
I read with interest the article but alas it a fact that Hindus do not want to lkive with Muslims as neghbours because of fear/concern and loathsome of habits. The general perception is Muslims are un clean/eat all sorts of animals/ breed many children and live in closed fortress/Muslim women are jailed inside houses and Muslim festivals means killing. It is also a fact that in most cities Non- Muslim taxi drivers avaoid driving through Muslim areas saying it is " Pakistan"--.
What was experienced by a muslim brother is just one side of story. Let me share my experience of staying in muslim locality. We bought a house in a muslim locality in old hyderabad. At that time there were no differences among the communities & were happily co existing. some time later riots started erupting frequently during hindu festivals. The familiar muslim acquaintances who were friendly with us started turning their back.we had to spend so many sleepless nights sitting on the top of the house listening to cries of hindus whose houses were burnt and even ladies and children were brutally stabbed. we had to move out of our house and take shelter in a friend's place. The riots had become a routine affair and minority hindus were mentally harassed. Muslims used to openly celebrate Pakistan's victory in crcket matches against India . Hindus were not allowed to even celebrate India's victory. We have decided to sell the house but no hindu was allowed to purchase it. we were forced to sell the property at throw away price. we could not purchase other house even at double the cost in hindu area. Now all the hindus staying were forced to migrate. we are still livingin a rental house
You are extremely lucky to be borne in India. Nowhere in the world are muslims given so much protection & preference as by the Indian govt. Problem is you people have been pampered too much. Did you ask them why they dont prefer a muslim amongst them. Instead of weeping & crying do something worthwhile & reform yourself. Stop the atroicities on Women. Stop formenting terrorism in almost every corner of the world. Stop being a nuisance in every country, with every community. Stop being called traitors in every cornmer of the globe.
Dont forget that it was BJP / Shivesena combine which supported & got the present President elected.
Vivek Sharma At least do some of these things, you will see the perceptions of people change automatically.
