I have been to many places in india.I am staying now in kerala but originaly i am from rajasthan.I thought I am in india but what i feel here that i am in a different country.People has their mental view up to state level only and they treat others like if they have come from some other country . They feel that their country is Kerala not india, thats hilarious . Even they are not interested to learn hindi, which i feel our national language, haa , ridiculous. There is a division in india which is very clear to me, 1st one is hindi knowing people(called as north indian} and 2nd non hindi(south india} people.I feel its good to maintain culture but if that culture makes you to be orthodox then i say its nothing but like jehad only. There should be flexiblity with the society. Then only you will be in mainstream than being like a frog in well who thinks that this is the world rather its not.
Hi, I totally agree with the views as still there is discrimination on basis of caste and relegion when it comes to housing still in mumbai. We are supposed to be the leading country in the next 50 years and if we want to achieve that position then we have to forget all this idiotic thoughts and even our systems are resposible for this discrimination as when a kid is born it has to be mentioned on his birth certificate whether he is a hindu, muslim, catholic etc and then subcaste...... why is it not enough to just mention that the new born baby is an indian..... its the duty of young generation to bring this changes in society if we really want india to prosper.
I clicked on the url thinking "It's worth a read if this statement is being made by a Hindu...". Me being a Hindu, If I say "I can't live among Hindus" is something to read about. If a muslim says that he can't live among hindus is *yawn*very understandable*yawn*.
There must be a way to announce for other users "there's nothing here...move on".
While I sympathise with your experiences during the unfortunate riots in Mumbai, I cannot help but feel sorry that you've allowed these events to have such a profound impact on your psyche. We're playing right into the hands of the perpetrators of such events.
As far as dicrimination in housing societies is concerned, I can assure you that it is not directed towards any specific community. It is basic human nature to prefer living around people who are most like themselves, whether in terms of eating habits, languages spoken, festivals celebrated or having the same socio-cultural outlook. And, to an extent, I feel it is justified. Of course, I stress "TO AN EXTENT". For example, there is a Muslim family living in my aunt's society. Every Bakri-Id, they insist on sacrificing the goats in the society premises, in full view of every house. As tolerant as I am, I cannot fault my aunt for feeling disgusted with this.
This is of course, an extreme example. In no way, does it condone the attitude or behaviour of the exhibitors. All I would like to say is that this is not directed towards any specific community. I'd request you not to make any judgements based on this one incident.
