Why I won't live among Hindu's
by prakasam on Apr 11, 2006 02:28 PM  Permalink

The subject chosen by the writer and the circumstance under which he has gone thorough is saddened me a lot. sorry to hear that this kind of things are happening in india.

The facing such situations are really heart broken. i appreciate the writer who infact elaborating the same and bringing it to the public view.

Atleast in this cosmo culture these things should not arise.

I stayed in many cities till now, Nagpur,Hyderabad,Bangalore,Chennai.where most of people are from different states and different religions, but never heard such sitiations. we are more jovial and have social gatherings all over.

I empatise with the writer and to all such people who are facing such difficulties.

Even i heard the same in a recent TV channel interview. obviously it is not a good note on some people.

let us change the concept and come back to the multi regional culture and one religion culture.

sincerely,

Prakasam

Safe haven for Syed Firdaus Ashraf
by swamijyoti on Apr 11, 2006 02:28 PM  Permalink

Syed Firdaus Ashraf can better migrate to the safe Islamic haven of Pakistan or Bangaldesh where he can be eternally happy. Hindus can arange to give him a grand send off, only he should be ready to go there. In case he does not want to go outside India, then he can serioulsy consider shifting to another Islamic haven inside India (Kerala), namely, Malappuram. After reaching his safe islamic haven he can write another article to coinfrim his eternal happiness there.

Nothing unusual about discrimination
by Buffalo Soldier on Apr 11, 2006 02:27 PM  Permalink

You will find similar discrimination (based on nationality, ethnicity, religion, and so on) in every country in the world. I'm not condoning this, but just pointing out that people generally behave the same wherever you go.

man you are so right. i am a high class brahmin by birth. but the discrimination i witnessed through out my childhood against people of different religion led me to think otherwise. i found out that by and large hindus not only discriminate with other sects, but also within themselves. the stream lining dissolved my faith i the Almighty and the religion.

I am proud to admit that i am an 'atheist'

by anil on Apr 11, 2006 02:22 PM  Permalink

Hi,

I think this is a problem with all Indians . you know there are problems even if you have friends belonging to other religions and the most discrimination is faced by Scheduled castes/Tribes and Muslims because the general population feels this guys are not welcome that is the kind of damage that our society has undergone God help our country.

Sir, just as it has taken you more than a decade to overcome your fear and your hesitancy, the same will have to given to others as well. You were ready to take the courageous step forward, I commend you for that. However, do not feel disheartened about the response you got for your initiative. It would not be wise to judge an entire community on the stupid naiveity of a few. And this rule applies to both- the majority as well as the minority.

It would be very sad if you were not to persist with your initiative. But i repeat, yours is a courageous step and in my humble opinion, you ought to continue wiht such an approach
