Frankly, the religion thing that you are talking puts me off. To me, it appears to be pure animal behaviour. Birds of the same feather flock together. Maharashtrians like to live in their community, gujaratis in their own, muslims in their own.
But India is one country where I can show you 100s of exceptions to this case. Come to bangalore. I'm a kannadiga. I lved most of my childhood in a neighboorhood surrounded by Telugu, Tamil, Muslim, Christian and Gujarati families.
I just gave it a thought after reading your article and I'm astonished that so many different communities lived in one single road!!
Personally I feel, if you had a little more guts to stay in your old place, you would have been happier.
Like to remind you. People are not refusing to sell home because you are muslim. They are just cautious about so many reports about miscreants/terrorists taking shelter in unsuspecting neighboorhoods. It's unfortunate, but it's reality. We have to learn to live with it until human beings really learn to live with each other.
Have you ever given a thought about who started it all. The Bombay Riots etc. etc. It is the fall out of the terrorism created by your own so called "Secular and friendly" people.
Before writing a third rated article in a public domain, think about this.
