Condolence and Grief over administrative actions
by brijesh chauhan on Apr 15, 2006 04:43 PM  Permalink

Every one Died/Missed, is a number game to politicians and administrative officers, but remember that each individual was an important member of his/her family.
God forbid they could have been our blood relation too. so each one of us should deal the thing in the same way and should try to help these effected families with best of their capability.
If culprit of this heneous crime is noticed should be hanged at victoria park only.

Meerut fire''The aftermath
by labrea on Apr 12, 2006 08:56 PM  Permalink

Aren't there fire safety laws in this land, especially with regards to assembly, and especially the exit requirements? It's criminal that there was only one exit/entry for such huge crowds. Where were the fire department inspectors? Did they approve the permit application for this fair? Were they required to review the application? Was there even a permit application to the authorities by the organizers?? Is a permit even required by law? Who's to Blame?

Meerut: The aftermath
by Mukesh Setia on Apr 12, 2006 12:25 PM  Permalink

We let the things happen and then talk about the system and its flaw.
The human life is cheap in INDIA. There is no term like security and protection.
Almost at all the public places, fairs/exhibition/cinemas; Do the system really care about protection of common people and physically challenged? Or it is only on papers, in which every thing appears to be proper; otherwise we all know what the truth is.
We, the common people are quite depressed about this incident and taking apology to all those who are no more
and strongly request the top Government (Center/State) authorities to look seriously into the matter. Otherwise be prepared for the replica.

Give our lives a value- a chance

meerut fire & safety
by vijayandamodar on Apr 11, 2006 03:33 PM  Permalink

Very sad to remaind to the organisers that this is not the first such incident. Similar incident was occured in Tamil Nadu and other places.

This mistake was done by the organisers and at the same time the local authority who has sanctioned the fare.

Always ensure that when such fares were held, if it is in auditorium or any other place, the Exit must be broad one.; Also to provide an emergency EXIT to avoid large number of deaths and casalities.

With regards,

Vijayan damodar
