Test of faith for every christian
by D on Apr 08, 2006 04:52 PM  Permalink

I dont know what the exact contents of Gospel of Judas are but I dont believe there would be anything as such as Gospel of Judas. Judas killed himself even before Jesus death then how can there be a Gospel of Judas.

What the point of all this publicity about Gospel of Judas anyway? What the point of all this discussion? Believing in Bible or Gospel of Judas is just a matter of faith and belief. One whose belief is strong in the Lord such a research or article will not be able to diminish that faith. This is a test of faith of every Christian.

Judas was a traitor
by Astha Rastogi on Apr 08, 2006 04:09 PM  Permalink

Judas was a traitor and there is no second thoughts about that. Those who dont believe in the sanctity and holiness of the Bible keep coming up with absurd things to prove the Gospel wrong. Bible is true and those who add anything to the Bible and delete anything from it God will add that many times more punishment in their account. So be careful what you say about the Holy Scriptures.

Focus on the Lord
by alphansa on Apr 08, 2006 04:02 PM  Permalink

The Bible clearly points out that there will be false doctrines & beliefs during the end times.....and the fact that many will even turn away from their faith.Let us not fall into this temptation. Our hearts should be focussed on Jesus alone.May the Lord help each one of us.God bless you!

Judas committed suicide almost immediately after Christ's crucifixion. So the chances of him writing a gospel is very less. But there is overwhelming evidence that all the other disciples wrote gospels.Do not forget that Christ expressly instructed everyone to spread his Word before His departure. They knew that writing about Christ's life and teachings is the best method to spread His Word.
Since many of his followers understood the historic importance of Christ's momentous life and His path-breaking teachings, they proceeded to write it down.Hence, there was a lot of material available to the early church fathers, when they proceeded to compile the Bible. They selectively included those works which highlighted the positive aspects of Christ's life and diligently avoided(or edited) those works which included both positive and negative aspects of his life.
It is clear that they wanted to emphasize the divinity of Christ and discourage looking at Christ as a human being.Hence the gospels of Philip,Thomas etc.were not included in the Bible. But these and other unknown works resurrected 50 years back in the form of Coptic scrolls(found in Egypt)and the Dead Sea Scrolls ,giving a better pic.

Judas death
by Anil Raj on Apr 08, 2006 01:58 PM  Permalink

Well if this is really preplanned and Jesus might have asked him to release him from his flesh, the why the death of Judas was so horrible.

Why judas should hang himself to death??

y did the question of regret arise in Judas for his deed?

Judas : New Gospel,
by Prabhudas TS, on Apr 08, 2006 01:13 PM  Permalink

Judas, after betraying Jesus, the son of God, returned the 30 coins to the High priest and succumbed to his own folly by haging himself to a tree and died . Jesus himself told during last supper in John 13:18-30 "that He who eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me ....It is he to whom I shall give a piece of bread when I have dipped it. And having dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas iscariot the son of Simon. Now after the piece of bread, satan entered him...." There after he betrays Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. This is recorded in the Gospel of John and in other Gospels in the first century itself. The present intrepitaiuon is nothing but satan motivated and totaly false.
