''Prophecy'' and not a ''Request''
by Leonard on Apr 09, 2006 11:16 AM  Permalink

'... you will exceed all of them. For you will sacrifice the man that clothes me,' indicated Jesus' prophecy and not a request by Jesus to betray him as mentioned in your article.

Judas et al
by Paul Mathew on Apr 09, 2006 09:08 AM  Permalink

to a few of my fellow Indian Christians (you know who you are)
Is it possible for you to make a point without going overboard with the hell and damnation stuff.
Have you ever noticed others on this site do that in the name of their religion?
Please take it easy and live your own life as best you can.
Thanks
Paul

Another important information
by ajit achuthan on Apr 09, 2006 07:13 AM  Permalink

The original manuscripts are offered to Stephen Emmel, a Yale PhD candidate, commissioned by Southern Methodist University in USA, to inspect the manuscripts.
Looks like southern Methodist university, which is based on strong christian religous foundation and who spend lot of money and effort in christian religious studies, were interested in verifying the truth of this manuscript. However, we folks rightaway rejected it because it doesn't go along with the belief. People are more comfortable in believing things going on in Heavan and Hell and write in such a detailed description as if they have visited there couple of times..!!!

More gnostic nonsense
by ken teaff on Apr 09, 2006 12:40 AM  Permalink

The gospel of Judas wasn't written by Judas, or by any of Christ's disciples. just like the other gnostic documents, it was written by people who didn't know Jesus, pysically or spiritually. The author of that piece of tripe would not have any idea if the relationship between Jesus and Judas was anything other than what the canonical gospels said.

Just more nonsense from those who eagerly embrace anything that contradicts the Bible, no matter how ridiculous or easily disproved.

Why Judas?????
by Peter Pires on Apr 09, 2006 12:27 AM  Permalink

It is indeed rather strange that so much time and energy is wasted in the historical verification of the teachings, preachings and the life of Christ and those around Him during that period of time.

If only we could spend half the time and energy to understand the teachings of Chirst and emulate them, the world would be a far better place to live in.

The believers of Chirst have nothing to really worry about as all this is the handi-work of the anti-Chirst people who keep finding different ways to distract the faith of the people.

As we enter the 'Holy week' and fast approach "Good Friday" let us emulate Christ and quoting Chirst in one voice say FATHER FORGIVE THEM FOR KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO.....

Yes,of course he was a betrayer!
by Joseph on Apr 09, 2006 12:08 AM  Permalink

There is a plethora of ignorance all around and I too was a victim of ignorance---so why do we not read the Gospels and other books(The life of Jesus Christ -Sr.Emmerich-Tan books)which clearly show that Judas betrayed Jesus and after Jesus died His soul descended to the dead and there he met Judas in Hell who was the first Christian to enter that lake of fire for all eternity as he did not repent for his numerous grave sins.
