Grand-ma is the real mentor for all of us
by L.Shanmugasundaram on May 10, 2006 08:29 AM  Permalink

I was so much inspired by her life. It clearly showing that govt. not cares about people who played crucial role in our "Indian Independent movement"

She is the best lady who deserve more than any award in India. (Not a foreigner who has the power of running this govt - sonia) and all the corrupted politicians (Jayalaitha, Karunanidhi,.... )

It was a very moving article.I can feel the truth and pain in Amma's words. I wish every Maa is India be like her and gives birth to sons like her. I wish government gives her due regard respect and honor her with the Bharat ratna - the most deserving instead of some ex dead ...

wonderful article! may God bless such great souls and give the younger generation the strength and inspiration to hold together and take India to a whole new level, which makes all those who have laid down their life for independence, to look down from heaven and realize that it was all worth it!

At 106, she still cares about In
by Manjunath G T on May 02, 2006 04:48 AM  Permalink

This ia a very touching story. I wonder atleast now the government wakes up to identify people who have sacrificed everything for the sake of country. Saraswathy Amma needs to be really appreciated for her tenacity and devotion to the cause of country and the community. The present generation of Indians owe a lot to elders like her. It is time the govenrment and the community organizations honoured her. She may not accept any financial help, but, certainly she can be convinced to accept the appreciation of the government and people. There are many such people who are languishing in abject poverty. Even a small help will be a great thing in their lives!

At 106, she still cares about India - Address for Vishranthi
by Usha on May 01, 2006 07:33 PM  Permalink

Hi,

I'm really keen on getting in touch with Amma........the awe-inspiring lady. Could you please give me Vishranthi's address, so that I could write to her.

It's a shame that the government fails to recognize such people.

Usha.

Great legend - came to light to show the modern India the path of light
by venkatrajan on May 01, 2006 09:44 AM  Permalink

Can everyone of us who read this tale take a vow - that we will not be corrupt and allow anyone else become corrupt for our personal gains. We encourage couruption at all levels - right from admission to schools, job recommendation, at business and at social life. We are creating a corrupt society. Can we spend one day a month to teach value system to our children. Education should start at home - Please do not show any signs to your children that you can get them something by unfair means - right from buying cinema tickets in black. Every individual who does that is a criminal. We need to be sinccere at all levels - transaction process is important than the end result. When will we learn.
