It is always very nice to read about people like this than about movie stars. Is there any way that we could directly write to Mrs. Saraswathi ? If so, please let us know.
Very heart warming article and what an amazing lady Saraswathy is.
The pity is, this article will be forgotten soon, and the lady will pass into obscurity again, and the likes of Mulayam, Deve Gowda and Jayalalitha(aaa)will hog the public attention again, and the likes of Sonia with their "sacrifices" will push their fat and well fed children to "public service".
And you would wonder, if there was a higher call from the heavens for Saraswathy to have been rescued from the river and given to the undeserving people of India.
People with such mind-set are hard to find today. She is indeed gifted to have been through the entire century and witnessed India\'s independence as well as its emergence as a global power, and we are inturn gifted to have shared this period in time with such a patriotic person..
Hats off to the old lady.We need many more such people in our generation to teach masses about self respect and sacrifice.I shudder to think how much she had to suffer for the country and was still so strong as to not take any help from anyone. This type of people are needed to teach our corrupt politicians a lesson or two. They who claim to be public servants can they give such type of sacrifices for their nation.NO,NEVER...We are proud to have you amongst us madam.
