Do we need Sex workers?
by Mahesh.G on Apr 04, 2006 09:59 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

After all the headlines sounds too funny to me. My simple question is do we need sex workers? Do we need thier votes? The most intriguing thing is that there is a committe which takes care of these sex workers? Wah! Applause.... Where are we heading to.

Brothel should be banned. Still there are so many decent and legal ways to earn.Only lazy people will indulge in such activities.

Don't spare them.......

Women are exploited in many spheres. The most inhuman exploitation is among sex workers. They should be allowed to pursue their profession with diginity. Such laws only enable police to harass and extort money from hapless women. Our law is in favour of such trade in high places. But when it comes to middle class level it gets very rude. What is required is regulation of the trade and getting the full cooperation of sex workers in containing AIDS.

With Indian Economy Booming , I think there are a lot of opportunities.
by vsmahesh on Apr 04, 2006 09:03 AM  Permalink

With Indian Economy Booming , I think there are a lot of opportunities for anyone to live life with honour. I know that almost all women who are involved in this trade were forced into it either by circumstances or have been tricked by rogues. But with the Indian Economy booming i think there are a lot of opportunities for anyone who is willing to live the life of honour.

Whats the reason for boycotting the polls. They should ask for rehabilitation or ask for providing alternate employment or ask for empowering them with skills that would enable them to find better employment. This boycotting of the polls only suggests that they have lost the will to strive towards joining the main-stream society. Society no matter how cruel it is towards them, will always respect the attitude to live with honour.

One should depend on the skills he aquired, powers he attained and abilities he developed to seek livelihood and only when there is no choice should one look to use the God-given things(BODY) for a livelihood.

These people should not loose their will to live with honour. Ofcourse the so called clients would surely not want them to switch to another honourable profession.
