Its high time now for the Diplomats of india.
As we all are aware of the fact that the way the American Congress functions ,lobbying is a very important aspect in it.
As India is now more involved with America and its policy makers , its very important for indian diplomats to States to be well equipped with the art of lobbying.

Mr Shaya Saran's visit to US for canvassing support for Nuclear deal
by C V R Bharati on Apr 04, 2006 02:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I agree with the view that job of getting the deal accepted by the congress must be left to the US government, and more particularly the US president and his associates who have been instrumental in getting to the present stage. The visit of Mr Shyam saran will only expose him to unnecessary pressures and needless exposures to questions which are better avoided.

Will India free the Rupee?

The N-deal is already a sore point for many in Congress and maybe the Foreign minister should steer clear of seeming too involved in politiciking. In fact, India might be much better-off wihtout this 'deal', which may now force her to recruit the private sector, which has the profit motive to do a better job than the present babu-run enetrprises - everyone knows that babus are only intersted in their salary, perks and status, and not overly concerned about results, as they cannot be fired and will continue to recieve thier pay whether they produce or not.
