I think its rational in the present context to have a Tibet...in the lines of his Holliness .A Nation not visualized as a discrete geographic entity but rather as an place where an opportunity of freedom and autonomy for Peoples culture and practises and living is guarenteed . I belive that eventually transformation could occur when Tibet becomes the shelter for the common Chinese currently craving for sprituality.No nation can survive without the foundation of sprituality.Its good for China to have a nation within nation for its own future
It is great to read such wise words. One day, Tibet will be free again. When there are no nations of land and resource; When men are free to think as individuals; The Tibet of our hearts and minds will be free again.
It is idealistic to expect China to change. Even with its slow democratising process, it is likely to be more aggressive. Imagine its tone agaisnt Japan is unrelenting. It has finished Tibet and is trying to similarly deal with the Uighurs in Xinjiang. As for the Tibetan rivers, our fellows in the south block, are living in their dream world of India-China Bhai Bhai. They were clueless for days when a lake in Tibet overflowed. Whether it is Tibet or Xinjiang, China is wholly interesting in furthering its empire. And we are being asked to surrender our claims on Aksai China which is vital for securing our energy interests in Central Asia. We are needlessly rushing in to settle with China without safeguarding our long term interests. The tragedy is that bulk of the media is turning a blind eye and you will find rare writers on advocating our long-term interests and exposing China's intentions. S Subramanyan
India is feeling meek and weak state in front of China. We have now started moving in right direction. We need to strngthen and help humanity by more forthcoming on Tibet issues.
