Babus don't make anything, all they care about is their pay-check! On the other hand, a for-profit corporation must perform or go-under - this is also the basis of enterprise and invention. Had the private sector been allowed into defence production these past 50 years, India would not be so dependent on foreign sources, from planes to sophisticated field-guns, and which not only would have created employment but the forex would have been better utilized for the social sector. So, after all the thousands of billions of taxpayers monies, India has almost nothing to show for it, even the so-called 'indegenously' made Brahmos are Russian through and through.
