Musharraf Still Need to Learn Politics
by Bilal on Sep 26, 2005 12:59 PM  Permalink

By now Musharraf should have came to know that US is not considering anyone to safegauard its interests. It fought Soviet Union with the help of Pakistan and other allies and liberated Afghanistan. Then fought with the fighters who involved in liberation again with the help of Pakistan and other allies. Now again Pakistan has left out of picture. Musharraf should realise his mistakes and should give up the job of playing arrogant army cheif and learn some politics which will really help him and his countrymen. Then onward he will know how to make use of the opportunity instead playing with the people of his own country who go on telling the world he is illegitimate & unconstitutional leader.

Prez Musharraf to Think
by Vinay on Sep 26, 2005 12:54 PM  Permalink

At last something has bitten the clever Prez who can never be honest and yet claims to be the most honest man seeking peace with India. Although US seeks alliances of convenience and is neither a true friend to India or to Pakistan, obviously India's patience and relative honesty has paid.
It is not the common man on pakistan streets that should be asking the question, it is the preident himself who should do some soul searching and ask this question to himself. Only if he is capable of being honest and introspective.
Why is it that India, the country which has never invaded any country in the world, and yet borne the brunt of countless foreign invasions, is still a vibrant and relatively safe country, billed to be a superpower (I have my reservations there)?
Prez Musharraf, an overt India hater, is now unable to savour yet another setback. I really pity him and wish he had his eyes wide open and not wide shut.

Mr.Mushrrraf should look upon himself and should be more serious about what the people on street in America think about him and his countary.Despite so much help &support it is repaying in the form terrorist attacks for jehadi cause and arming its enemies (Libiya, Iran etc.)with technologies for arms of MASS DESTRUCTION.

Wake up Mr. President
by Rajab on Sep 26, 2005 12:30 PM  Permalink

By uttering those words, Mr. Musharraf has himself confessed that terrorism has not yet been rooted out of Pakistan which he said was the vice versa. For Uncle Sam action should speak the words. Otherwise who will give funds free of cost. Wake up Mr. President. Try to root out the terrorism from your soil which will be the good thing to your people. Automatically the world will oblige you.

Pak itself to blame for the predicament it is in
by Sreenivasan Raju Aiyer on Sep 26, 2005 10:26 AM  Permalink

Musharaff laments that his country was left high and dry in spite of its fightng a war along with the US in Afghanistan. Well. Who is to be blamed for this? Pakistan acted over smart. It ran with the hare and hunted with the hound. Even while fighting in Afghanistan it sold nuclear and missile secrets to its co-religionist nations. It also gave away tactical weapons to al qaeda and other Islamic terrorist organizations.

United States which looked the other way while AQ Khan & Co., were busy smuggling nuclear secrets in Netherlands found 9/11 too much to swallow. Being left "high and dry" is just the beginning. Pakistan, God Willing, will definitely harvest the seeds of hatred it has sown for over 1400 years. Pak would do well to recover the nuclear weapons it has handed over to islamic terrorists before they misuse it on American soil. If that happens, no body can stop Pakistan going up in smoke. Knowing them as we all do, they will continue to live in an Utopia that they would be able to defeat the civilized world in its quest to propagate its faith through terror means. Mark my words. Pay back time has just commenced in its history. da da da da di la la la laa!

Only a matter of time
by Ketan Palekar on Sep 26, 2005 09:35 AM  Permalink

It was only a matter of time before this happened. US uses countries like Pakistan to achieve its own motives and once that is achieved they leave them high and dry. But Pakistan fully deserves it. Pakistan did not focus on growth and development for the last 2 decades. Instead it chose to fund terrorism in Kashmir and thus became a hub of international terrorists. It was supported by US only because US wanted the former Soviet to be disintegrated so that it would be the unchallenged superpower. Now that aim has been achieved plus it's own strategy of creating terrorists boomeranged after the 9/11 attacks, it now wants terrorists to be eliminated since they have become a threat to the US. Also now China which is a rapidly growing power can be checked only if US joins hands with India which is also becoming a major power to reckon with. However India needs to be careful not be become a US puppet like Pakistan. It should look at achieving economic benefits from US while preservig its military and strategic independence.
