Mitrokhin's book
by Gopal Sharma on Sep 28, 2005 10:13 PM  Permalink

Mitrokhin's revelations in his book:
Everyone knows that the erstwhile Soviet Union enjoyed the "most favoured nation" status in India after it sided with us on the Kashmir issue in the United Nations in mid 1950's. The rest is the logical corollary -- penetration in the Indian establishment, 'buying' newspapers and journalists and payment to politicians for organizing anti-US demonstrations in Delhi. This time Abhishek Singhavi, Congress spokesman, has been given a difficult brief. Yours -- Gopal Sharma

Point well made. Even if the archives are rubbish the questions asked in the article beg answering.

Slave comrades.
by Kailash Das on Sep 24, 2005 11:23 PM  Permalink

The communists took advantage of Mrs. Gandhi's political vulnerability and spread their KGB inspired trechery and bribery to include major part of media. KGB has now become defunct but communism and it's associated radicalism and extremism has not and it still corrupts leftist leaning mainstream media.

Till this 'trecherous corruption' is not completely wiped out from Indian media, India remains weak. There are still lots of comrade 'journalists' in India advocating giving Tawang region of Arunachal Pradesh to China to resolve the boundary dispute and providing open support to violent Maoists. This slave and betraying mentality should be banished at the earliest.

Congress thievery
by Lionel on Sep 24, 2005 05:52 PM  Permalink

Why not look at PSU deals - For example Hungarians were supposed experts at BALCO, Russian experts were all over Bokaro Steel - all of these were paid not in rupees or roubles but dollars during their sojourn in India. NEedless to say, the bosses of these PSUs made countless trips to the USSR and almsot alway sdetoured via Europe.

As for Soviet equipment - look a the miserable MIG21 - known as the flying coffin -that was inflicted on the IAF -nothing furtner needs to be said

plz concentrate on the imp issues
by Manoj Sharma on Sep 24, 2005 02:06 AM  Permalink

Stop this nonsense over non-issues! And concentrate on the main ones!!

Mitroken knew about Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose being in USSR, did he not? Why is your article not highlighting that? If Netaji had been in India, none of the non-issues you have described would ever have happened, right? So why not focus on the main issue?

Will the govt enlighten us
by labrea on Sep 23, 2005 07:43 PM  Permalink

Wait till you're blue in the face. The sad fact is, no one will dare open this pandoras box, and not just the commies are wooried, but so are the many big-wigs who hold important positions in netadom and babudom. So, like all their other trachery, no light will be shed on this issue. Incidentally, isn't there a "freedom of Information" act allowing the public access to such info, or will it become "classifiied, confidential and secret".
