Religion and personal comfort
by Mano on Sep 16, 2005 12:16 PM  Permalink

I think the author is mixing religion and personal

beliefs and comforts.

Vegetarianism is a personal discipline and has

nothing to do with being a Hindu. Tell me how

much %age of Hindus are vegetarians. I know many

non Hindus who are strict vegetarians.

Sania's discomfort at playing in low skirts is out of her personal modesty being a woman

and not being a devout Muslim.

Martina Navartilova had nothing to do with Hinduism

either.

Comfort or dis-comfort, Sania is doing her best to

bring pride to our Country. Do not spoil that in

the name of religion.

religion is part of life for all those who claims to be religious.when you say u are follower of one particular faith, u are bound to follow all the norms set by that particular religion.sania is no exception and not above the faith.so whatever the moulvi says it is not their own law set by them but the law set by the god and decribe clearly in the quran and hadith.

it is crystal clear according to islamic faith that all the human being will go to the god after death and the faith he live in his fate will be decided according to that.

so wheter it is sania or anybody from the moon if he claim to be a muslim, he should live like a muslim or change his faith and live according to his wish.

this type of misleading article about the moulvi and islam will distract the mind of true muslim and mislead the muslim those who have little knowledge about islam.
thanks

HI

Its true! Religion defines a way of life. In earlier times, it was necessary for the wise to put down laws, regulations, rules etc regarding the way to lead life. Now modern life is totally a different ball game altogether. So different laws have to be written? I dont think so. Modern life also brings in people with modern thinking. This way, the person himself decides how to live life. Nobody should tell others what to do. So I decide if I have to go to a temple on a Tuesday. I decide whether I should keep a beard. I decide whether I should pray five times, two times or none at all. I would want to tell all maulvis- Just chill!

Grow up people. Instead of looking at the length of the skirt why don't we concentrate on the game she plays. There are better issues to discuss than a skirt. This shows our religious maturity.

You Are Right...!

Mr Shenoy

You are right what u wrote in your coloumn.Hey Can I ask u onehting,Does our Relegion (Hindu) allow our females to wear half dress and show her body to the unknown person except her Husband...?Why we always make an issue when a Maulavi says anything? They are not wrong as they are doing as per thier relegion. They are trying to become relegious as well as they are following our Indian Culture where a female cant wear such clothes in front of unknown males..But we Hindus are running away from our relegion and when some one from other relegion like Muslims says anything our media creates an ISSUE...Sania can play with full dress if she want to play...Its not necessary to wear short dresses or skirt to play Tennis. And if u say that if half dressed are needful to run fast on a ground so why the Cricket players are wearing shirt and pants? Why female Cricketers are wearing pant and shirt?Mr Shenoy please think abt this and if u have answer reply me to me......I m observing from last few couple of months that our Media is always going against Islam and Maulavis? When someone from our relegion comments like this why we dont make it an ISSUE?IS this a justice of MEDIA?

Saniadresscode

I think that unnessery contorversy has been created. There is nothing wrong in the dress code as it is esssential to play the game. Everyone knows that she is practising tennis perhaps the so called religious heads atleast locally. In allowing initially to play and practise and to take part in International Tournaments without any objections the so called scholars have agreed to what had happened atleast initially. Noe when she had brought fame and reputation to the entire country by her hardwin this type of petty objections carry no convictions and rather expose their religious fanatism.

as far as i know no religion is an hindrance to practise any profession.even the holy qoran says that when one doesnt have any alternative ,one can bye pass the laws, in extreme conditions one can step ahead of religious laws.hence there is nothing wrong in sania"s so called infamous dresscode.

Take it easy man!!! I don't think that any GOD( assuming there is one) is goona strike you down for wearing a mini skirt. I cant stop rolling in laughter thinking that GOD is goona ask for a reason for wearing a skirt. There are many more graver sins perpetuated by humans than wearing mini skirts.
