Sania Mirza's sports gear is her own choice of comfort & ease and adherence to the profession's informal norms
by Akhil on Sep 16, 2005 11:37 PM  Permalink

Its quite a ridiculous matter to write about.
The writer has done nothing to put his own point across and simply publicized the matter, which, perhaps because of writers like this, may now turn into a poignant issue.

ill informed unnessasary topic
by RAJIV KHANDELWAL on Sep 16, 2005 11:34 PM  Permalink

dear sir ,
i feel we should not create a fuss about such issues as they lead nowhere besides jawagal shrinath was advised by great pakistani bowler imran khan to eat meat for his bowling efforts but jawagal remained a vegetarian...i hope next time you write on youngsters its for encouraging them...:)thank you

Sania'z personal choice
by samir on Sep 16, 2005 11:27 PM  Permalink

Its not right to relate this with religion. It is the personal choice of the individual. A decision that is taken at individual level.
Sania..Gr8 going ..Keep it up

I don't know why we are EVEN discussing this?
by Asham on Sep 16, 2005 11:26 PM  Permalink

Oh my god, I dont really understand why are we even discussing this? This is like asking a swimmer to wear a sari and take part in world swimming championship - if the athlete is a muslim and she is representing India. If indians will not stop pulling legs of each other and stop going back to early ages of BC 200, India will never be able to produce good athletes. These stupid maulavis should try to play tennis and represent India, if they are so much concerned about Sania Mirza's dress. Just mind your own business and leave her alone- Let her do her job. It will be her who will make India pride and not those maulavis. This discussion should be over right here.

Sania - Give Her A Break
by S on Sep 16, 2005 11:24 PM  Permalink

Mr Shenoy / Obscure Maulvi / Any Others with an Opinion on what Sania should wear:

When was the last time someone tried telling you/your wife/your daughter/your sister what to wear? What was your response? (I know my response would to ask said persons to shove their opinions up their you know what).

Point is Sania's not beholden to anyone. Enjoy her game or switch to another channel. It is none of your business.

Sania and the dress code
by Abraham Sam on Sep 16, 2005 11:23 PM  Permalink

Sir,

Your writing on the above subject is well balanced. But too much writing on the above subject, I fear, will take away all the attention on the game. My humble request is to keep ourselves out of these kind of comments. We all should be proud about what this girl has achieved at such a young age. Bravo Dear...Carry on...Do not lose focus...We want you to see in the first ten....

sam, cochin

Please leave her alone......
by Suresh on Sep 16, 2005 11:00 PM  Permalink

I don't really understand why people drag religion into everything. We are born as human beings first and be like that instead of dividing people in the name of religion.I don't think GOD has any religion.
