Informations placed in the article quite interesting. As a concious person from a developing country like India I marked no much diffrence in such situation all over the world.Inspite of our good preparedness measures this seldom work properly in emergencies.Afterall suffering of people is must.Bureocracy as well as the administration behave like the same every where. We pray for quick recovery of miseries from Katrina victims. Thanks
In the midst of our today's society's pathological obsession with 'survival of the fittest' in a 'globalized competitive world', we occasionally need to be reminded by Mother Nature like this that somewhere down the line, the well-being of mankind has to be the outcome of an integrated (or should we say globalized !) process. Robbing Peter to pay Paul can only give rise to a culture where robbery is considered a virtue and robbers are hailed as heros (not everyone is a Robin Hood !)
Both USA & India should seriously look inward and see how they are playing in their 'home matches', instead of focussing only on 'away matches' (like how USA is doing in Iraq, or how Indians are doing in USA).
