HOW THE 1965 WAR STARTED-Some Myths and Some Truths
1 Who started the war or to put it more palatably – how did the war start ?? Just as it would be nave for the Indians to keep repeating that the ‘71 war was started by Pakistan it would be extremely myopic to continue haranguing now, almost half a century after that war, that India was the aggressor in 1965. In 1971 Indian regular troops were already making forays across the IB in what was then East Pakistan. All that happened was that Pakistan pre-empted the planned Indian offensive by commencing hostilities along the Western front on 03 December whereas the Indians had planned to launch their offensive for 04 December.
2 The genesis of the '65 war can actually be traced back to the Kutch crisis. Hassan Abbas (Pakistan's Drift Into Extremism: Allah, The Army, And America's War On Terror) says , quote ,' When the Pakistan Army inflicted a short, sharp reverse on the Indians in the Rann of Kutch in mid-1965, Ayub’s spirits got a boost. More important, the international arbitration that followed the Kutch dispute (resulting in favor of Pakistan) put Pakistan under the assumption that if the Kashmir problem was to be solved, the Rann of Kutch route would have to be replicated - a limited clash in Kashmir leading to a threat of all-out war, and then an intervention and arbitration by the great powers', unquote. Emboldened by the rather timid and weak response of the Indian politico-militar

Pakistan started the war by sending soldiers in civilian dress to Kashmir in order to make hue and cry over there. All Pakistani forces were on LOC in Kashmir as Pakistan thought that India will fight on that place and get defeated easily. Ayub Khan was behind this but the people of Kashmir were loyal to India and they reported that intrusion of Pakistani army to Indian authorities. Now, India had to take tough decisions. Respected Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastri took the decision to teach Pakistan a lesson and made it a real war in place of psudo war started by Ayub Khan. As war started Paksitani army captured some part of Kashmir and in return India went through Punjab to Lahor and captured more area there. After 14 days of war Pakistan was out of ammunition and US was not able to provide that much ammunition so fast. Pakistan felt its mistake and asked US to take stand in order to stop the war. US took this opportunity, it was the best time for them to make Pakistan their servant for years. They forced UN to look into the matter and convinced India for ceasefire. As India didn't want to capture Pakistani land (Lahor side) but only wanted the Kashmir part they agreed on the pre-war condition cease fire and Mr. Ayub Khan intentions to get Kashmir were demolished. So, who won? Clearly India, because India forced Pakistan to do what India wanted.

And the evidences of Independent India and American enslaved Pakistan:

1) Pakistan let American forces to stay in Pakistan to fight against Afganistan as Pakistan became servant of America in 1965.

2) Pakistan always did whatever America said them to do. Even they were not able to oppose the movement of America to kill Osama bin Laden by quick attack inside Pakistan. America was so sure that Pakistan can't do any harm to America anyways.

3) India never entertained America on there unwanted demands:

Respected Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastri replyed Americans non-support for food supply by saying "Jai jawan, Jai Kisan" to Indians and in next two years India was growing enough food not only to feed Indian but to export them to other countries too.

After years Respected Mr. Atal Bihari Bajpayee during successful nuclear test got Indian economy in good condition without American help as American refused to help India because India didn't agree to defuse the nuclear weapons.

Hence India never relied on American help. We are always on our own and do fair agreements on our own demands. If lead by good government and prime ministers like Lal Bahadur Shashtri and Atal Bihari Bajpayee we would never have to look for any other country to indulge in our decisions. I pray Congress party never come back in power again in India as it has become the worst political party of India, they have no good leader to make India self reliant.

You've been talking a lot about how much you have invaded in India in 1965.Don't believe Indian claims,Check neutral sources India captured 1842 sqkm of Pakistani territory and Pakistan captured 540 sqkm of Indian territory.Who won the war,You or us?Pakistani government was spreading wrong rumors of capturing 3500 sq miles of Indian territory after the war. When they realized it's not working they reduced it into 710 sq miles.India wasn't completely out of this The Indian agencies claimed over 2000 sq miles of Pakistani territory. But the sources outside India and Pakistan(the neutral sources)Shows you the truth. We captured 3 times more than what pakistani's captured here
