How much genuflection...

I still remember in the early and mid nineties when the official Indian response to Pakistan's KAshmir rhetoric used to be that Kashmir is India's Inseparable part and their can be no negotiations on it with any external party.

Now, the "Abhinna Ang" philosphy seems to have given way to the belief that Kashmir is negotiable, we have to appease Pakistan and even talk to Hurriyat and also, ex and current terrorists. Mind you, our friendly neighbour has not budged from its stance by even an inch,"There can be no LoC based solution", or better still, "There is no cross border terrorism". Wonder where has India's self respect gone.

We are reducing troops from Siachin, we'll make the border irrelevant (whatever that means) and we'll bow down whenever the Big Brother pulls our ears and asks us to take a bus to Lahore. Wonder why then did we need to get so many young bright Vikram Batras killed on chilly heights of Kargil.

Not only that, we are ready to talk to separatists, people who went around killing and raping. And, nobody is concerned about Kashmiri Pundits.

Wonder when, if ever, will we have a leadership that can walk with its back erect and shoulders broad.
