This is an good attempt to create a story. It has been written with the author's own whims and fancies, to vent out his anger. If you cannot spit in public in singapore, you cannot afford to kiss in public in chennai. This is not the place to do it.
Hello Editor, Please don't allow these kind of articles in public fora like rediff which deserve respect. Does the author say that all that he said should be in the reverse order.. or what he wants to say? Saving the great indian culture is bad on chennai's part or what? Please never allow these kind of articles in your website atleast....!! I am regular reader of all the news articles in rediff.com Bye, Balakrishna
I Think the article is feeding a negative thought about chennai to the readers. I personaly feel, whatever incidents happend is given a wrong theme and blown to maximum extent. The author likes when her own boy or girl get caught by her Big brother and she goes to Big Brothers' house to release them. If you are going to college, you wear proper professinal dress. Don't do modelling inside the class room. Atleast till you finish your studies properly. Whateever blah blah she told, cann't be accepted by majority of the people. Some of the so called Hi-Fi people have, like that animal instinct what the author wanted.
Most IT companies have dress code of No short skirts.. Does that mean they are aliens.. Anna University is second to None in churning out Top class professionals. Do u think the principals and vice-chancellors are nuts? Were u a witness to what Mrs.Khusboo said? Her question was "How many women in Tamilnadu are virgin when they get married?" or thats what has been attributed to her. May be in other parts of India u take it as ok. For many in Tamilnadu that is a gross genralization and cannot be taken lightly. India does have a culture of its own for ur information and V ppl in Tamilnadu do stick to it ofcourse with exceptions. To my knowledge, Scene 5 is an example of ur hatred for TN Police and ur imagination.
Though some of the issues are controversial and are to be discussed in the public domain, what has been portrayed is certainly a personal perception.
Yes, Chennai is the city that blah, blah and blah..
I hope Big Bro wont kill me for writing this column. What the heck, I hope he makes his presence felt. Egad!, I do hope the great culture gives me the strength to bash up big brothers. That made me laugh, that did. And what story is this from, or is it a new movie on Chennai? Understood, that you like to shout at stupid big brotherly people, so do I, but what's the point making your statements behind veils of fiction. Take names, addresses, lay them straight. Lay them out in the open, for example I'd like to shout all the world's filthiest expletives on Jyoti Basu, HKS Surjeet, AB Bardhan, Somnath Chatterjee, Mr. and Mrs. Karat, Sitaram Yechury and all the red hued leftists for bringing woe to the nation on Turdy Thursday, 29th September 2005...It makes better sense than to say I'd like to bash up the Leftists...wot say??? Come on Ms. Shobha, speak the name of Thee with aplomb...In retrospect, I hope Chennai doesn't turn into the headquarters of Opus Dei! :-)
Frankly didnt get the author's intention, is he saying Chennai (or any other city) should allow young kids kiss each other?! May be he represents the 'modern' or 'free' India?!! Simply disgusting to read such utter non-sense that too on the main headlines of Rediff.
I did not find anything wrong with the restriction laid on the behaviour in public places. Other than that all other restrictions are just politics at its best. Remember all the Engg. Colleges are run by politicians only.
The author has rightly brought out the big brother attitude of the government in India and specially chennai. Is there anybody out here who dare question the atrocious attitude of the government. Atleast to my knowledge the reason behind all this is simple, ban everything make all ur citizens live in a dark age , no TV's , no computers, no internet , no information...you can cheat them very easily and continue to hold power as long as you wish.
Guys n gals in India , think seriously if its worth living in Chennai, after all u are not gonna have fun . Hopefully the big brother will not troop into a movie hall and stop screening of a movie jus becoz its got a hot smooching scene...To hell with the government.
Thanks rediff, for bringing out this on your website and needless to say be careful...they might ban ur website in chennai as well.
But long live all the premanandas (he was unlucky to be caught!)...tats how the city should become more and more morally good.
Best wishes for the government and long live the police commissioner.
